I was wondering if, for the sake of weight reduction, anyone has considered or carried out a removal of a drop down bed. A lot of MHs are offering fixed bed at the rear and a drop down over the cab.
How much do they weigh? Is it worth the aggro?

Blimey....... we were discussing that after the annual battle with D.V.L.A. to get my license renewed !!!!! sent mine away first week in January..... still no joy...... I basically only get 8 months a year !!!!!

When we were looking at getting a new A class a couple of months ago we had a Rapido on our shortlist that could be ordered with an optional removal of the drop down bed. This reduced the MIRO by c45kgs so probably somewhere in this region.

We ended up with a Pilote and we'll be removing the overcab mattress and ladder saving c8kgs but we're up-plating so we'll just be using this space for additional storage.

We had cupboards instead in ours and that saved about 10kg. Obviously if you didnt have cupboard replacement then it would be more.
