I'm looking at getting an Amazon Firestick to use both on on a non smart TV at home and also in the Motorhome.
Neither TV is 4k.
Is there any benefit to me in getting the 4k version is performance etc. ?

Yes. The 4K is a better item. I bought it for home, as I’ve got the older version in the Moho but now use it in the Moho as it’s better and faster

Yeah if you can afford it - with technology always go for bigger numbers.

And turn down the quality on it if you are worried about data usage.

Just ordered a 4k firestick from kodi for £25.00 if you're interested

Is that all you need. £25 for the stick and you plug in to the tv then use the mobile data?

Just check your tv supports powering up the stick - some need a separate power cable gizmo which is an additional piece of kit. But most are okay without.

Oh and yes go for the 4K version as it’s quicker all round even if you don’t end up using the higher definition.

It is all you need but unless you've got subscriptions to Netflix or Amazon Prime etc, you'll be limited to the free to air channels and other free apps of which there are many. Works really well and I agree; get the 4K one and have a degree of 'future proofing'.

Just typed in amazon firestick

No deals came up for me when I did the search. I assume you are talking about the 4k stick at £25. Do you have the suppliers web site name/link?

It always surprises me how hard some funsters find it is to post a link to an article or deal 😳
I had a quick look and didn’t see a deal.

I’ve got the firestick 4K in my amazon wish list & I’m just waiting for it to drop in price. Probably be that annual Black Friday week 🤔😎
But I’m up for a deal 👍🏻

Thanks everyone. Looks like 4k version it is then.

I saw the Kodi one for £25 but can find it now.
Can anyone post a link?

the 4k is much faster, the firecube is even faster BUT to be honest, i dont really see that much difference.

4k firestick is my suggestion, then look up Troypoint.com for add ons ....

you may want to consider getting a VPN aswell (an app that adds security and a cloak of invisibility LOL)

Hope this helps

Go to Troypoint.com or search on youtube. I recommend the XANAX app (kodi) and cinema.apk. all will be revealed on troypoint.

What does Kodi give?
Does it give extra channels?
It definitely expands the use of Amazon’s & historically Sky’s small internet receivers (e.g. fire & now tv).
But I’ve no user experience to share.
I.e. its a good thing.

basically you can watch lots of programmes from all over the world, the search engine is very good and we use it to binge watch lots of programmes that are available on a sort of 'catch up' basis

do some research on youtube and you will get much better info

kodi is one of several apps that give access to all sorts of video streams. From fully legal stuff through to the obvious pirate sites that stream all the latest movies and all sky content for free

How do you load the kodi type add ons to a new amazon firestick?
