Too big? Too tall? In the past I’ve heard the term “size does matter” being referred to me, now I’m beginning to understand what it actually means….

Heading for France in September, and just trying to decide whether to get the Liber-T Emovis Tag. We are 3.10m tall, and although not intending to be always on the “major” roads, we will no doubt come across them and/or have to use them.

Is it worth getting? And experiences? Appreciate those of you all staying awake to read all this….
Sleuth…

I have no idea what a Liber-T Emovis is, if you put up a photo folks may be able to help you better.(y)

You’re allowed on the Peage irrespective of your size. You will be Class 3 due to your height…

I’ve got a motorhome?

France - Liber-t tag

As long as your vehicle is no more than 3 metres in height and less than 3.5 tonnes GVW you can use any non height restricted lane that has the Liber-t
sanef-liber-t-logo-small
symbol illuminated. A vehicle of this size falls into the Class 2 fee structure. If your vehicle is larger than this then please contact our sister company Eurotoll.

Spain and Portugal - VIA-T tag

Providing your motorhome weighs less than 6 tonnes you can use the VIA-T lane

N.B. If you have a motorhome with a "luton" / overhanging sleeping compartment you MUST ensure that the Tag has "line of sight" with the reader (i.e. can see the reader on top of the pole). If you install the tag at the top of the windscreen behind the rear vision mirror it may not be able to see the Tag reader and will not work - in this instance you have to put the tag at the bottom of the windscreen BUT ONLY if you do not have an athermic windscreen.

Large Motorhomes / Commercial Vehicles.

France - Liber-t tag

The Liber-t tag is only for class 1, 2 & 5 vehicles. Emovis Tag UK does not offer the TIS-PLtag for class 3 and 4 vehicles, but our sister company Eurotoll do offer the TIS-PL tag for Class 3 and 4 vehicles.

Spain and Portugal - VIA-t tag

The VIA-T tag is for light vehicles. That's cars, car + caravan, motorbikes and motorhomes up to 6 tonnes. We are unable to offer a tag for heavy vehicles for the Spanish and Portuguese road networks.

If your over 3m tall you would be better without a tag. Your toll will be class 3 which is more expensive but if you press the button and tell the operator you are a camping car they normal reduce the toll to class 2

I've got the ATMB tag as there's no monthly charge when you don't use it. When registering you enter the vehicle details so you get the correct class at the tolls.
