Alfie came to us as a puppy, he was the result of an accidental litter. He was very tiny when we got him, but soon grew into a big dog. Him and Holly our border collie were inseparable, until we lost her 2 months ago. He has spent lots of time with us since, and enjoyed being the centre of attention.

Until a couple of weeks ago he didn’t even act as if he was old. His last day was a nice one for him, he had a nice walk and chicken and rice for breakfast.

He died peacefully laid in the shade in the garden yesterday, and we took him to the local pet crematorium.

He’s always been a loyal dog and we shall miss him dreadfully

Run free at the bridge with Holly, Alfie xxxx

A couple of photos, this one was him just after we lost Holly

And this one is taken in the garden the day before he died. He was wearing the collar to stop him over grooming a lump he had.

And this is him and Holly September 2020

Sorry you have had a double loss so close together.

They were both beautiful dogs.

Very sad to read this but happy for Alfie that he left for the bridge on his own terms, knowing he was very much loved

We are thinking of you, sounds like Alfie had great ‘parents’ and a lovely fulfilled life.
All pets are special but for sure his GSD traits will be missed…
We still visit the stream in our local park where our last one liked to lie down in.

Sorry for your loss. I had a lovely one called Bella. This was her on her sofa a few weeks before she left us 😢

Sorry for you’re loss. When we were looking for a replacement for dog we were offered a Black German Shepherd. He was a lovely looking dog but he looked huge and had no house training.

What a beautifull pair ,you were so lucky to have them, the pain of losing your best pal is heartbreaking isnt it,i was never a gsd fan until my son got one two years ago,and i fell in love ,they are stunning dogs, and a beautifull border collie too. they are not with us long enough eh? Take care pampamx

Thanks once again for your lovely messages and your support. It helps a lot (y)

I am so truly sorry you have lost your babies, they were both beautiful and a credit to you.
We know how much it hurts & how deeply, it is never easy.
Sending you hugs.

They do leave a massive void. He was never far away from me and we’ve all said we are still stepping around where he would have normally been laid!

I'm so sorry for your loss. He is a fine looking chap.
