For years!
I see today that Aldi have an air windbreak in their special offers email. i am looking at investing in a good windbreak. Would this be a good choice?

I have given up on 'air' things. They always seem more expensive, heavier, bulky and with all the extra pegging down no quicker to erect. Add in the pump and the fact you cannot stow poles separate from the windbreak then all advantage disappears.

We have been pleased with our Isabella windbreak. Very strong and sturdy but not so light with the metal poles.

Jormax for me too

Had a couple of windbreaks over the years used probably once or twice then binned!
Not a fan of hiding behind a ‘wall’ and not seeing out!
Same with us. If we go on a site I always find it odd. People fence off a little bit of grass and some seem to sit there nearly all the time doing nothing except the odd potter around taking the toilet cassette a watering can etc when they could sit on the lawn at home free

We have a jormax. It is very good and the price is not that much more than the aldi one.

geordie1 I have a couple of friends that both have the Vango Airbeam windbreaks which come in individual panels (you decide how many you need to use) and slot together with figure of 8 tubing. They are good but do need guylines etc. However they are quite bulky and I think one is probably going to be sold for this very reason - the owner has a 5.4 metre PVC! 😁

Every few months I look at windbreaks (I was looking at the Aldi one yesterday) because I think they'd be useful when trying to cook outside when its windy. But then I remember that its only a problem now and again, and if its that bad then I'll just cook inside or rig something up with a tarp. So I don't bother (save money, save on weight/storage). I wonder if windbreaks are a particularly British thing? You hardly ever see them on campsites abroad, and when you do its usually a British unit

I have 16m jormax vision (incl the skirt on the van). Works perfectly, gives the dogs freedom to come and go as they please from the van, reduces breezes and can still see out, looks great and even withstood the 50+mph winds we had (I only took it down when the winds were 70+ mph).

Now the sun is (or was) here I am looking for a bog standard windbreak as well, if anyone see's anything in Aldi, Asda et. al. could they let me know please?!
I just want a solid section for shade for the dogs and privacy sunbathing.

I have, and use, a couple of windbreaks…… when needed as windbreaks - one is see through material so a compromise between the open ideal and the sometimes necessary shelter. Being as tight as the proverbial ducks bottom, I had to pass on the superb Jormax offerings and go for Cornish windbreaks wooden version which do work well.

I think that air beam windbreaks are a marketing idea following a fashionable trend rather than an answer to a genuine need. Unlike Jormax, they still need guy ropes, so why bother in the first place

I have the Aldi windbreak and use it with my Pilote Reference 6.8m. Great to coral my flat coated retriever. Easy up and easy down

Have it on good authority that these windbreaks are the same as those supplied to Vango. The small inflatable awning is worth considering too.

Ours is very similar to Jormax and is about 10 metres long plus you can see through it, very sturdy and very tough, deffo stops the plancha being blown out and goes well with the wind & rain blockers slid into the awning using kadar strips. Only problem was the wooden poles but now they go into steel screw in supports.

Why bin something you could easily give away to someone who would get good use and enjoyment from?

I've found the Quest Shelter works well to cook in and store chairs and tables. We use it to relax in when its windy too. 😊

Maybe out of the same factory but they are not the same as Vango, I happened to have seen a Vango one yesterday they are individual panels held together with a Figure of 8 strip the Aldo one looks as if its a one piece three panel windbreak.

We all observe what is happening on site, but there are some an we encountered a couple recently who just stare and follow your every movement.........which is more than casual observing so a privacy break is all good
