I'm a newbie
Has anyone used the ‘Delayed Timer’ feature on Alde system for heating / water? This is a great feature and would be good to be able to use it.

So, last night I set the timer to come on at 6am and go off at 7am. All was looking good as I had the egg timer symbol on the main screen to show the timer had been set, and I also had a large ‘A’ on the Home screen to indicate I had activated an ‘Automated’ system. However, the system did not switch on at 6am as expected.

I would add that after setting, I did switch the system off on the main on / off button as I had activated the timer and assumed that it would switch on at 6am. Another reason for switching it off was because if I hadn’t the heating just would have stayed on all night which makes setting the timer pointless.

Any advice would be great.

If you turn it off it won’t work.

If you don’t want the heating on all the time then turn it down on the main panel.

The automatic setting will then turn on at the programmed time. Hope this helps

Yep, as Southdowners has said.
I've been there and done similar.

If the power has been turned off the clock will need re setting also.

We set our heating to a lower temp at night, one of the settings gives you that option , so it effectively restarts in the morning unless it has got cold overnight

we set ours for 22C daytime and 16C overnight, 11- 6 ?

Brilliant and I see the logic in that. I'll give it a try :).
So before turning in for the night I need to set the night time temp to (say 8c) and the morning temp that I want to wake up to, to (say) 18c.

I actually called Alde Tech Support who stated that I did the right thing by turning it off. They just suggested resetting the system!!

Just a thought as I'm not at the van at the moment and regarding the above advice, I know there are options to set the ON / OFF times (obviously) and day, but I cant remember if there's an option to set the desired temperature.

So, curiosity got the better of me and I made a special trip to the van to try out the advice given above. Well, we're nearly there but not quite. All I want to do is to set the heating / water to come on for an hour in the morning prior to getting up just like at home. I don't want to use 'Night Mode' which means it's on at a set constant temperature all night.
It's easy to set when you want the system to start and stop but there isn't an option to set the temperature.
If I understand the advice above correctly, you set the temp on the main screen to low (say 5c) prior to going to bed and the temp on the delayed start feature higher (say 16c) so when the system starts at 6am it overrides the lower temp (5c) and warms up to (16c) until it goes off at the end time say 7am. However there's no option to set the temperature that you want the system to warm up to (16c) or am I missing something and making a simple procedure over complicated?
Any advice please?

On ours there’s the day and night options. So if you go into the day setting you get a menu with the days that you want it to come on, the start and stop time and also the temperature you want. Same for the night one. We have different temperatures set on each.

You can download the manual if you don’t have one.

Great. I also have these options that are called Day and Night Modes which are different to the Delayed Timer function that I'm banging on about?
However I'm thinking that it's one of these (probably Night mode as I need the heat / water to come on early) that I should be using and not the Delayed Timer feature which I'm now wondering what it actual is or is used for.
So the bottom line is that I may have been trying to use the wrong function to get the heat / water to come on for an hour before I get up.

Yes, it's the day/night mode that you need to use.

I guess the delayed timer feature is for if you go out and want the heating to come on before you come back.

So to put this one to bed, made a special trip to the van this afternoon specifically to try out the day / night mode and BINGO! Result. As you'd expect the system activated and shut down at set times. My only Q is that after setting do you leave the system on with the green light showing on the on / button or can you switch it off?

Same here but different temperatures. The whole thing needs fixing though as it shows about -11°C outside. Sensors changed but no change, so booked into Alde to get it fixed

I wouldn’t switch it off as that will stop it working.

Great. I only ask as the manual say to switch the system off after setting the Delayed Timer feature. Not that it matters but I'm still not sure what the Delayed Timer feature is for. But would be good to know what its for though!
