Hi all

Really dumb question inbound!!

My Alde 3000 isn't working on Gas. I have ordered some spare parts to see if swapping those out will solve the problem. However, If it doesn't, I may well be looking at a replacement.

The $64000 question is, Can I just swap in a 3010 or a 3020 without changing the radiators and pipes etc. I get that I would need to swap the wiring and the control panel. I guess I'm just hoping that the water and radiator ports are the same size?

I have emailed Alde about this and they basically said, parts for the 3000 are no longer made but we can sort you a new 3020 for £2500 (that's just the boiler not fitting!!)

With luck, the spares I have ordered will solve the issue. How I am going to get the burner out (N&B Flair) with the tiny space I have between the boiler and an internal underfloor wall is going to be another bout of sweat, bleeding fingers and swearing no doubt!!!

Many thanks

Paul

It's not worked on gas since I bought it and I wouldn't normally care as I usually use EHU.

However, I'm yearning to not have to rely on a car and go off grid.

I suppose I could just buy a hottap !

Lol I've spoken to the seller and he can't guarantee that it works on gas!

Well....... Whilst waiting for the parts I ordered for the boiler, I randomly ordered a new control panel. Plugged that in this morning and the boiler instantly started working on gas!!! It was the gas on off switch wasn't working!!!! Don't I feel an arse now!

Hi, we all make that kind of mistake. Hope you can return the non delivered parts. You might like to try and clean your old controller, probably a little corrosion on the switch.

Managed to cancel earlier. Refund already received! Got to hand it to Liesure Shop Direct, they have been great

I use leisure shop direct they are very good and helpful. They really are customer focused and a pleasure to deal with, and are usually the best price.
