Airplus Deluxe fitting and first impressions

In this video you can see the hand wheel and extension rod is separate from the actual lift motor so can be removed.

Yes it’s just an extension piece, with a spring to take up slack.

Having a think about it I would get something 3d printed to co in the whole.
It’s all joined by a square bar spindle like in a door hand, if it’s fully removed and the motor or mechanism fails you cannot manually wind it back in.
You could make a blanking cap up and see if one of the 3 bars are long enough to go all the way up through the cover and reach the winder socket, one might be depending on the thickness of the ceiling.
Or make a 3d blank that will do what the handle does inside but get a square 1/4” recess in the outer face so if needed you can operate the winder without taking the cover and wiring out, which is the most fiddly bit by the way.

I might have been tempted to just cut the knob flush, smooth it off and cut a nice width groove in the to that would take a wide bladed flat head screwdriver to turn the workings, could cover it with a white sticking screw cover.
My Fan has arrived today and the handle is easy to remove, just a circlip.
When it’s removed these still a collar that stands proud of the surround, total height from internal roof is 37.5mm.
It wouldn’t be had to remove this collar and re-engineer the handle with a 3d printed part.

Collar just looks glued in so should be easy to re engineer.
I’m tempted to do mine and just pull cover of if needed.

One of those electronic bits that sticks up is the sounder, you can stick some double sided tape over the end to dull the chirping!

Does yours now clear the door top?

It will when I get to fit it, who knows when that will be🤣
I don’t think I’ll need to chop the collar off.

Didn’t take long to fit once old one removed.

I’m going to measure depth. Of the hole in the handle to see if I can chop it off flush with collar and put a slot for a screwdriver in it.
Why I had it in bits I put a bit of foam sticky tape over the buzzer just incase it was noisy.

Hi Lenny. Have you printed a knob wheel that will sit below/above the Carthago fitted blind? I have fitted a Maxxfan with the original blind but need to source a smaller knob to allow the blind to close. Would you be able to share the .stl file so I could get it printed locally please?
Yes I did it's a bit rough I modded one I downloaded it one of my early attempts, I meaning to do it properly.
I'll see if I can find it tomorrow.
