Hi
Question for those with basic air assist. Where have you located the 2 strader valves. Thanks

Mine are on the rear chassis behind the bumper

Mounted ours with all the controls to hand on the dash.

Ours were fitted in the drivers door step, strangely they don't get in the way!

But in retrospect I'd prefer them to be on the dashboard as per Two on Tour above.

Was one of the best extras we fitted (needed to upgrade the MAUW). Transformed the handling.

Our previous van had them on the drivers doorstep together with the pressure gauge, for the new van they will be in the garage(to be fitted next month) as we found that we did not need to set the pressures very often, just to check the pressures before a trip.

Did you find once set that the deriere didn't ground out on ferry loading and unloading? We just touched on a couple of Calmac ferries as we currently don't have air assist.
I am looking to gain another 150kg,loading, but will need semi air and 225/70 R15 tyres as well.
It was the positioning of the controls, yes the garage would be a super easy fix, but not overly accessible if adjustment was needed.

Mike.

Mine raises by over 100mm (4”).

That's a neat finish, I like the sound of the functionality of the placement, it's just the getting it there  . Where did you mount the compressor?

My compressor is in with my hab batteries, although putting under one of the front seats would be an easy alternative. I use the pump all the time. Really useful.

Left rear under garage door under floor but flush so reachable

Same set up as you. Is yours VB?
Compressor under the seat.
Normal driving pressure is between 1 and 1.5 bar
On maximum, it raises my tow bar height by a smidge over 3.5"
But the improved solidity on the road is worth the £1100 on its own. Quite astonishing difference. You won't regret it.

It is all very neatly done. The guys who did mine were Motorhome Workshop in Worthing. Very happy to recommend them for their work and their very reasonable charges. They did a full hab check at the same time.

I was going to fit mine under the drivers seat, but decided that I would prefer that area for heavier stuff, as it so far forward, and the pump weighs nothing. Now contains my tools, rather than in the garage all the way at the back.

Yeah, for a little gadget, I could have chosen a better place to put it I suppose.

Valves, switch and dials are on the dash as per others above. Compressor is in the toilet locker (which is driver's side of the vehicle) - easily accessed from outside but protected from the elements.

Thanks very much for all those that responded. All now sorted.

My compressor, fitted by SAP, is under the drivers door step. There is a recess there which is just the right size. The space under my front seats is taken up by Alde kit.

On my DIY job I removed the drivers plastic step insert and mounted the compressor with Sikaflex on the wheel arch.
