Just started to look at the issue of the AHC and rang out local vets.
Each dog £86:50 for rabies jab, £130 for AHC.
Two dogs are costing me more than the tunnel!

Anyone use a reasonable vet in north east?

You would need to get your dog's rabies jab done at least 21 days before travel but there is Abbeywell vets in Folkstone that you can apply online for AHC at £99. We shall be using them for the second time shortly and they seem very efficient.

Just had one of our dogs rabies BOOSTER done in the U.K. - £77.34!! Is this a normal price? Feeling very ripped off.

The price for rabies jabs. Does seem very high compared to what people are quoting from vets in Europe!

If we can get the AHC sorted I intend to get eu passport and get all rabies done when in france or likely Bruge at a very nice vets

Abbey well would be good for certificate but too far away for jabs.

have emailed a couple on that thread but none do the rabies jab, will more than likely use one for the certificate though as it will be £129 for both dogs

The trouble is now there are very few 'independent' vets now, they are now controlled by umbrella organisations such as 'My family vets' which has forced prices up 😠
You could try Vets for pets.

We paid £60-£70 for rabies jab and £200 for AHC recently.
Money for old rope springs to mind !

Had you any issues parking the Mh there? I see they advertise 200 spaces but the biggest Sandgate Road P&D car park has a height limit :whistle2:

There is limited parking in front of the vets if your lucky,a car park round the back if you have a small van and roadside parking down Castle Hill avenue,we're 8.3m and got in second time round👍

Thanks, it just seems so handy for the tunnel. Looked at their web site and it seems to make the whole process so much easier (y)

We used Abbeywell this year for an AHC .. once you get the correct documentation to them it's as easy as 1,2,3. Check that you follow their helpful online guide to the letter and all will be well. Apply to them in plenty of time in case any corrections are needed.

I was a wee bit concerned about the AHC after watching this video (from around 16:20) when she talks about the form having to be in French (or which ever country you first enter the EU) It seemed a bit strange a British vet filling in a form written in French, after which my searches on the forum brought me to Abbeywell (y)

Stopped watching when Faceache was mentioned 🙂 anyone who turns up at the tunnel with an incorrect AHC gets sent to Abbeywell so they know what they're doing 👍

First year we bagged a space outside. This year my husband dropped me off and drove around the block a couple of times until I was back. It's really easy and quick. However it should be the last time we need them as Max is the proud owner of a Belgium passport now!
