Has anyone got one of these specifically in an A Class and dash mounted on the centre of the dash where the clipboard thingy is?
Wondering if the DVR gets a good view of the road and if the camera can be angled at all (doesn't look like in the pics on the website)?
Thanks

We had one and sold it, wouldn’t buy another. In order to get the correct view of the road the screen needs to be at the wrong angle for you to see it clearly and suffers from glare. Plus, it was the worst I’ve ever had for navigation. During a France trip I ended up almost chucking it out of the window it wound me up that much. I dug out my old Garmin and peace was restored.
I should add that others have said they like theirs very much.

Thanks Hettie's Crew
I did wonder - my Garmin Dezl 560 has been playing up and Garmin say its not repairable but they will give me a discount on a new one if I send the old one back which makes me a bit suspicious about it being non repairable. However recent traffic experiences make me want to get a dashcam and I thought I would kill two birds with one stone and get a sat nav with built in dvr.

Mr Colpot You don’t say what’s wrong with your Garmin and it may be nothing like the problem I had but my previous one was quite old and had been updated numerous times. It would no longer update, even though it had lifetime.
I connected it to my PC and treated it as an external storage device and deleted everything, thinking it was only going in the bin anyway.
I then went back on Garmin Express and it updated the software and maps working as good as new afterwards.

Hettie's Crew - On mine the Maps freeze every now and then and I have to reboot a few times to get it going. The instructions and description at the top of the screen update in real time. I then found out my lifetime maps update is for North America and not Europe. Am loathe to pay to update the maps in case the map still freezes afterwards.

It took us on some strange routes when set to avoid Autoroutes, when leaving somewhere it gave no indication of which way to go until we’d done a few hundred yards, by which time you discover your going the wrong way. It was very slow to recalculate if you missed a turn.
It had the most annoying three beeb warning before it slowly reset.
Some say they love them and I wondered if it was just me.

Thanks - will probably go down the Garmin route if I can find their e-mail offering me the discount on a new one.

I've used Garmin (four different models on my Moto's) unknown brand in my Shogun and XK, and TomTom in the Ducato. Every one of them has the annoying habit of not indicating the immediate direction at the start of a route. For example, starting a route at a T junction (leaving a site etc) there is no indication to go left or right until moving - at which time you have a 50-50 chance (if the area is completely unknown to you) of going the right way. I now usually check the route at low scale the night before, so at least I know the rough direction. Don't recall if CoPilot does it too but I do know Google does not have that issue.

Mine (Garmin) always says “follow the highlighted route“ which is shown on the screen. That’s what was really annoying with the Aguri, it said or showed nothing until several hundred yards had been done. Then it would slowly beeb, beeb, beeb and recalculate but instead of saying “if possible make a u turn” it would come up with another long winding route adding several miles, plus extra time.
I’m getting would up now just thinking back to it, never again.
