Advice on plates, bowls mugs etc

We would like to replace our Dunelm tin plates and mugs ( enamel chipping off ) in our van with something light weight, not breakable and pleasant to use any recommendations please ?
We use Corelle. It’s a bit like Pyrex but thinner, so not hugely heavy.

We’ve got Barebones enamelware which is great, as unlike most enamelware it looks great, and like most enamelware, it will never break.

We do have proper ceramic mugs for tea though - Denby of course!

Corelle, bought when I had money, 2009 they still look good and no marks or scratches.
We put a layer of grip-mat between the items, stops them slipping around as well as rattling!
Bone china mugs, normal glasses, and paper plates.

Just use normal crockery, mugs and glassware. No problems to date. 👍

We had some nice ceramic plates but they were a bit heavy. I found some really cheap and cheerful glass type, very light, in Asda. We bought a few spares and keep them at home, just in case! Melamine is OK but you cannot put it in a microwave should you ever want to.

Nice normal crockery to your taste we’ve used green gate for nearly 20 years .plus normal glasses.

Finally pensioned off our melamine last year they were the older ones bought in 1992 far better than the new stuff.

Now have the IKEA glass stuff they were out of stock of the cheap ones had to buy the expensive ones at 60p an item. :giggle:
think your spot on there ,,my parents had melaimine stuff for many years so i bought a new set after about 6 months use ,one of the cup exploded, lucky none of the kids got scalded ,,i wrote to them about it ,,they said ( your not suppose to put boiling water in them) ,,? they sent me a new cup ,,

Bought some plates, bowls and glasses from Sainsbury's summer range a couple of years ago, very nice and light for the Motorhome, we have tried glass mugs and one smashed on the floor of the motorhome a real pain to clear up and for was ever looking to see if there were more shards of glass lurking about after hoovering it up, the only things that we have that are not melaimine are the China coffee mugs, metal dishes for the oven, and use microwavable proof containers, it may seem a bit much but works for us.

Bone China plates, bowls and mugs, stored in cupboards with padding between each to stop rattling or damage. All with Bee 🐝 pattern on, of course :giggle:

A legacy from our camping days. Mostly "Twinco, 'Made in England'". Bright, bright orange, blue and yellow items (but some nice Dutch ceramic mugs). Maybe I owe you all an apology but they are very light and are unbreakable.

We have been using Corelle. It's lightweight ceramic and we haven't broken or chopped anything in more than 10 years. Only plates and dishes. I haven't seen any mugs. They take a little getting used to but I love them now.
I just buy mugs as I find them. Some in charity shops or markets. Just find the sizes that suit. I also have 4x plastic oval dishes that are good for salads and pasta.

Bought the hardened glassware stuff at a show, then discovered IKEA glassware so added large bowls and spares at less than half the show price had it all for 7 years excellent but fancied a change and bit of colour. So changed 2 months ago to a set of Brunner Melamine Stonetouch, it is so far excellent doesn't feel plasticky, bought it in the end from Brownhills for a very reasonable price :giggle:

just changed our long used melamine plates and bowls at the (last) Peterborough show the brand name is Quest ? and they have been a good hard working set but as there now over 8 years old we figured it was time for an update and we decided to go for the Brunner brand, and up to now we’re pleased with them, the bases have a none slip ruber insert the melamine feels bullet proof but As you can imagine they are fairly expensive, but I feel worth the outlay.

Started off with Corelle plates and bowls and yes it's tough but it's cold and needs warming like at home; changed to melamine which doesn't.

Look at some of the Ikea stuff like "Oftast". They are tempered glass so quite durable, also cheap. I think many Funsters use equivalent. Mine have "bounced" around in the van for a number of years now. I just pack a couple of bits with the antislip type matting, more to reduce rattles than need of any protection.
Lightweight glass? Tell me more! Usually weighs same or more than stone / ceramic.

2GB Racing try Lakeland they do mail order and also have some shops.
We bought ours from there and they’ve been brilliant and have lasted well.
We bought matching pattern mugs in ceramic as the melamine cups do crack over time with boiling water.
You get what you pay for

Just plastic camping plates, wine glasses and tumblers for us, we do have China tea cups and a small China T pot but the plastic is perfectly functional.

If you happen to be at Swaffham a set of plates bowls and mugs are in the auction.... Melamine type
