so. Amongst my very basic questions in the new van.... how do I lock up when inside for the evening?

In my vw if you pressed lock on the fob you basically put the alarm on and would set it off

Instead vw offered ability to press a button inside the slide door to lock up

What do Adria Twin 2019 model owners do please ?

Is it on a fiat chassis ? If so should be a lock button on the dash that activates the central locking.. I "think" that's how the wife does it on our Autotrail. I am usually already in bed (y)

There will be a button on the dash with a padlock symbol on it to lock when inside, we had one on our Burstner on a Fiat.

Ta daaaa. Such a basic question and a simple answer ! Perhaps all the excitement was overload ha ha

Alarms alway have a method of turning off the internal sensors so that internal movement doesn't set it off.
If you have an alarm always best to use it, always turn ours on regardless of where we are parked.

We press the key fob lock button twice to deadlock the front doors (indicators flash three times, but not all vans have the deadlock option when they leave the factory)
Often we put a luggage strap between the front door armrests for extra security

Thanks Phil, I did remote first night be had no ‘confirmation in my brain’ it was locked ! Pressing or at least seeing the little red light in the padlock button assured me night #2 !

:D2

Its important to always use the alarm if you have one, if not and something happens, eg you are 'burgled' you likely won't have any insurance cover if you've declared it to them when you took out the policy.

The lock switch on the dash shows a red light and you can hear the locks click shut.

If the red light flashes, one of the doors isn't properly shut. Usually the sliding one. Have another go with more oomph - your neighbours will appreciate that. :D

Can’t be worse than the vw swoosh bang noise !

I think the central locking button (cab doors) on the dash only works within so many minutes of the doors being closed ie if you try to activate then locks after a few hours the button doesn't do anything, hence you need to open close the doors and then press the button.

@Ridgeway, we've been sat in ours all evening then pressed the lock button before bed and it works, we don't have to open a door first. Ours locks the hab door too.

in the new year we had a bang off with fellow sliding door owners it seemed:D2
Oooooo ... that's just given me an idea ... did you see the toolbox music video ... I wonder if we could do a camper version!

I don't bother to lock the doors at night

They will probably gas me anyway to rob my Rolex collection after entering through the (completely silent) side door:LOL:

Beware if you use the Ducato dash lock. I have done that a couple of times at night then in the morning opened the hab door to get out. If I shut the door the lock takes over again and the outer handle has no effect - locked out. Fortunatel my wife was in the van but we now hang the keys on the had door inside as a reminder to unlock using the dash button.

buggers!, i will see if this happens on ours............

Thank goodness I've got an oldish van (2010) WITHOUT central locking and a separate alarm system.

Just lock the doors manually and set the alarm......simples.

"Keep it simple stupid" (KISS) is my motto.

A MH is a go anywhere vehicle - why do converters have to overcomplicate matters (perceived customer expectation , maybe)....rant over

That’s why we use the “second press on the remote” system. We hang the keys on a hook by our bed, locking as we go to bed and unlocking as we get up.

No confusion that way.

Me too ...I have 2 buttons on my fob you press one to arm/disarm and if you press the other within 20 seconds it turns of motion sensors but still keeps all doors and lockers protected. I have mine set every night just incase
