Has anyone had an additional leisure battery fitted to a recent (ie. 2019/2020/2021) Adria Twin once it'd left the factory - eg. by the supplying UK dealer or a specialist electrical company? And if so, have they had any issues? I ask because the van I'm getting was too far down the production line to get the factory to fit the additional leisure battery and the supplying dealer has said they can't (or don't want to???) do it because a previous customer ran into electrical problems after having one fitted. This seems strange to me given that Adria offer an additional leisure battery as an option and, furthermore, state in the specs list that the van is supplied with a designated space for an additional battery as standard. I would like the peace of mind of an additional leisure battery for occasional wild camping given the compressor fridge (ie. 12v Only) but don't want to invalidate the Adria 2 year warranty. I'm wondering if particular consideration needs to be given to the Euro 6d smart alternator? Any experience-based inputs would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yep
our dealer retro fitted a matching second leisure battery to ours before handover
Why wouldnt dealer want to do it.....?
It fitted under the seat, next to the other one

With the optional solar ( single panel) never had an issue

( And the fridge is great, no matter what you may hear)

Yes, we have. Ditto - it’s under the passenger (dinette) seat - there’s room next to the factory one for another of the same size. Solar here too. Never run out of electricity or heating (diesel), the loo is our limiting factor for wild camping, shortly followed by water if we’re using our own shower.

Many thanks to both of you for the affirmations, great news. And I should have said my van is coming with solar too, so all's good. I believe the dealer in question is relatively new to Adria and the customer who had the problem had the additional battery fitted by a 3rd party. This may explain their reticence, plus the salesman may not have sufficient technical knowledge. Either way, I'd prefer a cautious approach to a gung-ho one. Based on the info from Adria and your experiences, I will speak to their workshop manager to get it sorted. Just to check, I've been told by Adria it will come with an NDS Green Power 100Ah AGM battery - is this what's fitted to yours? I'll obviously insist that they supply & fit an exact match. Thanks again.

Hi there, I wonder if I could fit a leisure battery having these measurements: L355xW180xH245. I would like to order a Lifepo4 300Ah bat under the seat in a Adria Twin Plus 600 2021. Is 355mm too long and 245mm too high to fit under the passenger seat.
Thanks in advance.
Roger.

Personally I would ditch the AGM and fit either Gels or flooded cells depending on what you charger can be set to. AGM are too unreliable for off grid use.

Don’t have the van nearby to measure, but we just installed a second one exactly the same size as the first, next to it.

Hi Zingano, thanks for the reply ! No, not yet I'll be ordering a 2022 model now in October and I'm already thinking about installing a lithium battery with a 230v inverter under the seat.
I found on AliExpress a 300ah battery with there measurements and a pure sine 3200w inverter (with about the same measurements as the battery) so I can fit both under the seat. :)
What do you think?

We have a second lead acid under the passenger seat and an inverter under the bench seat. Both fitted by the dealer. The van is back in storage now so I can’t check dimensions but I don’t think you’d get a second battery and inverter under the passenger seat.

we looked at lithium but the dealer put us off on cost benefit. With the solar panel, charge on driving and occasional hookups we’ve never run out of power despite many devices to charge. Bog capacity is the limiting factor for wild camping.
