I'm a newbie
Hi can i just add another leisure battery to the one I've got to give me extra power when off grid, if yes is as simple as connecting it by cables to each other.

Cheers

In a word, yes.

It’s slightly more complex though. The batteries ideally should be same age and type, the cables joining them must be thick enough to cope with the highest load expected and the distance between the batteries should be as small as possible.

HI,
its advised to use the same batteries age etc and connect them so the system sees them as one 12v battery, this will help

Lithium are best but eye watering in price and not compatible with all systems.

The general rule is to look for ones from reputable manufacturers and not go for generic ones from China as often they aren’t suitable.

Gels can be took down lower than 50% charge but take longer to recharge.

I am sure others can recommend a certain one as I haven’t looked for years. The general rule though is heavier the better.

You may have to “tell” the onboard display what power it’s got connected to.

I like Hankook from Battery Mega store.
Make sure you can fasten them down and you must vent to the outside

I've just put 2 new Hankook's in mine both at 110 AH and so far all been good (I did have an issue with my charger recently but not related to the battery change) check what space you have available before you buy anything

I am just building a 320 amp hour Life po 4 Lithium battery with parts and cells from e bay for a cost of about £200 to £300, cant wait to get out and try it.
These batteries can be discharged to about 5%.
how much for one
