Hi Guys.
A German company make plastic add blue covers Fiat Ducato . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/202854854890
Is anyone interested in a UK made version at £10 each. If there is enough interest I will develop one for funsters.

Cheers Paul and Chrissy

An update for everyone. The adblue cover is coming along. Just need to do a final fit on my brothers van tomorrow. I have incorporated a small hole in the side so you can tether it to one of the screws in the fill up area. Saves loosing it.

Not wanting to be a sourpuss and I'm genuinely interested but aren't there patent or copyright issues when selling copies of these sort of things?

It’s not a copy. I’ve designed it myself around my brothers van Which has adblue.

PaulandChrissy - It looks like an affordable alternative but maybe your version should have a different name rather than the same as the one by the German manufacturer? Do you need to add thicker sections for added strength like the original 3D printed one?

I can’t find anyone using the name Blue Safe. If you know of someone, please let me know where.

Your link to eBay on your first post here links to the German BlueSafe & your idea to do this came from seeing our thread with this!

It’s to stop syphoning. It’s not super secure really, but it’s a deterrent. There is a stainless steel one on the market which is far stronger, but people don’t like it because it could scratch your paintwork. If the thief wants your blue he will rip it off no matter what you put on. The steel one would cause a lot of damage if ripped off, but the plastic one will give way before doing serious damage to your filler neck. The plastic one is the better of two evils as far as I can see. 👍

It's @bluesafe not blue safe there is a difference
Whilst we are all for clever 3D printed gadgets & new ideas don't think similar versions also using similar names reflects well on members or this forum.

The WIFE (Chrissy) will be the judge. keep the names coming. Judging will be concluded at 22.00hrs tonight. 😉

We've not read anything negative about either the stainless steel or German plastic version since we posted about this last February https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...rotector-for-adblue-tank.213932/#post-4235939 . It's not about preventing theft of AdBlue (that is a cheap additive) but about avoiding tampering & having unwanted contents added to the AdBlue tank.
