Hello !

How is this different to the regular CampingCard ACSI app ?

Looking at the web it says that it can access all campsites from the ACSI Campinggids Europa but what is that and why don't we get it with the regular CampingCard ACS app ?

Thanks in advance

From memory I think one app shows most campsites and the other is for sites in the discount scheme.
But I could be wrong as it was a few yrs ago.

I think you’re correct - one shows all ACSI inspected sites, and the other shows just the ACSI sites which are part of the discount Camping Card scheme.

I've been an ACSI member for years.

The CampingCard is a card and a website that shows you off-season sites where the card will give you a discount

Eurocamping is their campsite finder. Best on the web IMHO and the site I choose nearly all of our destinations from. I only go by their reviews because the Dutch and German campers are super-critical. Just run them though Google Translate.

The ClubID card is a good idea. It is linked to your passport and many campsites will take this card in lieu of a passport. I hate giving my passport up and in Italy it is very common condition of entry.

All of these are now accessible though apps which you can buy from ACSI. This might be useful if you are looking for somewhere to stay en route. If like me, you have sat in front of a computer, planning your entire trip with ACSI Eurocampings, email, GoogleMaps, Streetview etc; you won't find it as useful. Not sure how useful it anyway, as the websites are free and can be accessed via the interweb.

Don't really use the other bits of the organisation.

I don't understand the acsi app. At home on WiFi it won't show any sites unless I have downloaded the information to my phone/tablet. I don't want all the info for a country on my device just a search about where I am but it won't do that and the country info for say France is a massive amount of data.
