Several years now
In our Motorhome we don't have a lot of space in the "kitchen". Mrs Sandancer did comment a few times that it would be nice to somehow gain a few inches, referring to the kitchen space obviously (I think).

So I did a bit of thinking and the results are shown below. The actual shelf is a bit of the Chausson pattern wood which used to support the fuse boxes till I rearranged that area. It's a shame the woodgrain is not running the same way as the other bits, but hey ho. The shelf support is a bit of old plywood out of the garage. But I did have to buy the hinges, they are actually glass shower door hinges and cost something like £2-85 a pair from China. The covering is kitchen floor vinyl covering.

The observant will notice that the shelf support has a few more inches than the shelf, that is to start a new idea I have about access to the electric bed when it's half way down for the Grandchild to use.

Greta Thunberg has promised me a medal for so much recycling of materials.

So with a few strokes of an electric jigsaw and a couple of passes with a router, a shelf is born ! However, it is only a shelf when it is down and during a drunken night with friends last weekend we decided that when it is the upright position it is actually a "swelf" !

Very nice shelf.
I like a nice shelf.

I forgot to mention, it has a couple of magnets built in to hold it in the upright position when not in use.

To get 10/10 I mean very neat

I would have loved it to have had the grain the right way, but the piece of Chausson wood dimensions would not allow it.

Ah, please don’t publicise such achievements.

it will mean I will be coerced think about doing somthing similar in our 510.

Interesting you went for a hinged design. I had been thinking of a static level one that “slots” over the panel behind the seats.

Well done lovely job.

everybody hates a smart a... Well done, looks great. Do you travel with it in the upright position and if so does it tattle?

It does not rattle as I have embedded a couple of strong magnets in the base of it, so when upright the magnets hold it tight.

Mrs Sandancers just wants the extra space to put stuff like the teabags box, coffee jar on. Or maybe plates waiting to get food on. So while we are normally pretty level with putting it on ramps I have said that nothing containing a liquid has to go on it, just in case.
