I expect that this has been raised before but this is my first time!
Can anyone advise on a handheld vacuum cleaner that sucks? (that could mean the opposite couldn't it?).
Can't run to a Dyson or similar. Been through the interweb and as usual, more confused than ever. Too many people with agendas!

we've got a G-tech hand held and find it excellent. Our son who lives on a narrowboat and is often out and about when not working has a Black and Decker hand held which is also excellent.

I think the G-tech is out of my price range but the Black and Decker sounds interesting. I have looked at those and there are several different ones. Do you know which model he has?

Confused, If you can’t run a Dyson, how could you run a Gtech?

I think Dyson are overpriced. I have a Vax cordless. Not cheap, but does the job.
You tend to get what you pay for but, sometimes, you're paying for heavy advertising.

We have a dirt devil which works really well. We paid £2.50 for it in a bootsale 4 years ago. Does the job in minutes and can be used on an inverter as is low power. Not rechargeable though works on electric.
This is the same as ours. Package away small too.

Fair point. Broke a glass and didn't want to take a chance with the dogs paws. Suppose I should have plastic glasses!

Ok yes the Dyson is not a cheap item, our theory is buy cheap buy twice, our dyson is worth every penny we paid.

We have a Vax rechargeable in our motorhome. It does the job OK when we are on long trips but, having a dog, we always run a "proper" vacuum cleaner over the carpets when we get back home.

Just bought a Makita from
Screwfix. 18volt rechargeable battery knocks spots of the Dyson we have had for some time. It has the battery common to many Makita Cordless tools so as I needed a new drill bought one with 100 item drill kit . The battery will last about 40 minutes although I have not run it down yet. I use it all around the house so much lighter than the big Dyson we have
It will be coming with in the MH

Thanks for that. Great reviews, a bit pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for.(mostly).

We have had a Dyson hand held since 2003 - been very reliable so far only needed a replacement charger and battery and a new set of filters. Worth looking on ebay or similar for a second hand Dyson. Some people seem to get fed up with something after a few years and sell it on cheap

Not keen on Mr Dyson would never buy his goods. Took his business away from the UK to somewhere cheaper where he can exploit the workers even more in order to add to his millions.....not with my money though.

Hello thanks to everyone for your input. I have bought a Holife as suggested by ChrisL. Decent suction, cordless, light and good attachments. Luckily I picked on up from ebay half price. I nearly bought the AEG but it has a cord.
Thanks again. Mike.
