I know Spain bans them. I think France depends on the cop at the time bur basically they are illegal there.

What about Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany? That's where I would like to go next year avoiding France as much as I can.

Thanks in advance

David

I think your uncertainty already defines where you stand. If you tow a trailer with a car onboard, you still have a trailer to use. If you have an A frame, with the uncertainty of acceptance in some countries and the damage to the toad spoiling a nice little car. Where is the argument?

There are a lot more A frame Toad Tuggers than I ever imagined having been a Marshall recently at a biggish show.
I dont think many of them would now consider using them abroad, maybe the odd one or two, until they are personally made aware by being hauled over by the rozzers fined or told they cannot proceed in tandem.

Many though, have the OH drive the toad behind the motor home, as the motor home will be static once the holiday location is arrived at, so they can go touring the local sites in the car, but mainly in the UK only as they would have to pay for 2 separate chunnel or ferry journeys abroad.
(didn't mention the word caravan did I?):giggler:

Handy option maybe if one partner can get away before the other, or if they get on each others nerves, one can escape and head home:D2

Seen quite a few French MHs with toads.

We‘ve never been stoped with ours in France.

we take our toad to France 3 times each year, never been stopped, and have been through a few police blockades.
Long may it continue ;)

I towed my Smartcar from Liverpool to Geneva, then up to Reil on the Mosel, then from Reil via Luxembourg and Belgium back to Liverpool last summer with no issues whatsoever. I do not use toll roads, so if this makes a difference I have no idea. Having said that, I would not consider A framing in Spain.
