Picked up from another forum...

Luxembourg has just entered a second lockdown, and restaurants are now closed for eat-in, but still able to offer takeaways. This is the offering from a golf club.

€179!!!
Yes the OP on the other site did comment on the price but the idea could be used at many locations here in the UK.

After all it's only a posh version of going to the Chippy and sitting in the car eating the Fish & Chips which I guess 99% of us have done at some time in the past.
The old Calais Aire and the Friterie des Nations?

I think the point is that you are served a meal in your own motorhome and stay on the car park - if I read it right. How is that going to spread the virus so long as the eating apparatus is clean?
So no different to a take away, why highlight it just because it is a motorhome. Must be many times people have bought a take away and eaten them in their car.

The lockdown rules are for a reason - to save lives, so why would you want to consider ways of getting round lockdown rules, creative or not

Because we all have different opinions and interpretations of the lockdown.

So, unless you have not ventured out of the door of your dwelling at all since March?........Had all your supplies delivered and disinfected on arrival?. I guess you have a different opinion to the rest of us.

I am being extremely careful now as we are so close to a vaccine, why take any unnecessary risk at the moment when in a very short time we could have some protection from a deadly virus.

Id be well up for this. We were due at Bron Y wendon and heading to the valentine innat Llandullas next week, the camp have now told us they have no staff so will be closing till 23rd dec. so that out. If the val did these as take aways Id be there like a shot.

I don't see how eating a take away meal in your own motorhome is taking any risk at all.
How sure are you that the vaccine is imminent? we've been hearing about it for nearly two months now and there is still no date for vaccination to begin. It would be great to get a date for vaccination to start. We could at least then have some idea of when we are likely to be able to use our motorhomes to travel again.

But in a car you do not have a stable table to use cutlery and a glass on, nor can you drink and drive home legally afterwards or slip into bed after the meal to sleep or.......

The food!:whistle2:
You are correct. It's not food. Around here all the KFC places sell halal chicken only. Since that happened I will not go there.
Indian (curry) restaurants halal is fair enough the owners are muslims and therefore their religion seems to want this type of slaughter.

CampRA have already held one such of this type of event and have another in the pipeline.

Check out their Facebook page and their website.

Many more Indians are Hindu than Muslim. Many of the Muslims decamped to Pakistan(E. and W. then) at Partition.

Most of the curry restaurants around here are Pakistani or Bangladeshi owners. Very few proper Indian ones.

Because you get an overnight stay, don't have to worry about drink/drive and get a decent meal, not a KFCrap whilst swigging a cider and sleeping in the car if you don't get moved on and done for DD.

If it's such a rubbish idea and way too expensive guess how many people will take up the offer.

I agree with you re this lovely offer of what sounds/ reads like a very good meal with wine and a place to overnight. Also it would appear it will keep the ones who judge a meal by its quantity not its quality away. Which is never a bad thing.
There would also appear to be no law saying one must go there.

I've pretty much been at home since March ........ I was in the shielding group and since that stopped I have been to medical appointments, my parents in an emergency, flu jab, hair cut twice, supermarket (click & collect) and post office 5 times, Argos earlier this week (might have picked something up when there as woke up  this morning) and once we got fish and chips (pre-ordered and pre-paid, eaten in car). Been for one bike ride ........

Groceries are delivered.

My GP told me in no uncertain terms that if I get it I will be extremely ill. I had a dose of seasonal flu last year and that was bad enough.

It has always been said that the roll out of the vaccine would be when approved by the MHRA and hopefully will begin in December so the information has been relatively consistent. Admittedly it hasn't been said when the different groups will get it as they are starting with care staff, NHS staff and the over 80's. I don't know how long this will take but I am hoping by spring time next year at the latest. I usually go into hibernation over winter in any case so not causing me much issue to wait for the vaccine.
