I was doing my annual drop down bed fixing bolt checks on my Hymer B544 and whilst up there I noticed the section above the bed (brown wood) has no insulation in it. I was thinking of stuffing some non itchy loft insulation in there or a single quilt in the space to give some insulation, could I

expect any problems doing that ?

Good idea I should think might be good to put a vapour barrier in first against the roof🤔
we have a roller shutter blind and there is no insulation in ours was thinking of doing something like that but need to stop it getting into the shutters😊

Could you slide some insulation board in there. I think it would be better either glued to the metal or leave an air gap.
I laid this 1" Celotex board under my beds above the garage.

No chance of getting anything rigid in there, the opening at each end is about 6" x 10" (from memory) and near to the motorhome side wall, anything I put in there would have to be flexible or stuffable.

Synthetic hydrophobic wool, it will not retain water. The recycled plastic bottle wool used by the tapestry ppl, is treated for fire to, best choice for those kind of spaces. Vapour barrier if you wish after the insulation to keep the vapours out of it. No air gaps at all, unless you can vent it, specially on cold surfaces.

Not worried about it being fire retardant, if there's a chance of fire in a roof space it's already too late !

The GRP roof is double skinned with insulation between the skins although it is quite thin.

Surely there is insulation behind this section though with the roof construction?
