A beautiful van and a beautiful person

Some great ideas there, I love the wooden wall and door directly behind the sliding door.a

Also a wall, door AND heatproof curtain to block the cab off. Brilliant design.

Useless in the UK - nowhere to sit when it's raining etc

Oh I loved it and would love to sit and have coffee with that lady.

I worry about the weight of that wood. :(

I have lots of little ideas that I would love to do in my van to make it easier for me (not big things), but I am useless at D. I. Y and struggle working out even which screw to use for what on a drill.. It takes forever and then the shelf falls down. :(. Really envious of those of you that can do 'stuff'.. I really need a third hand to grow out of my shoulder too to 'hold that'.

When it rains in the tropics, it really rains. You then take the opportunity to have a shower in the rain, as it saves water!

Did she have a "down under accent"?

Let’s not mention payload shall we?
I have seen a lot of sites showing nice looking van completely fitted out with solid wood trim all over, and a marble worktop on some. They keep fitting the bits aNd the weight goes up and up.

It would be very dark inside on a winter's afternoon on a gloomy day in the UK. Horses for courses, but I much prefer my Autosleeper panel van.

It's on a Fiat maxi so could be 4250kg or 4500kg with additions

She lives in it so it's not a weekend holiday van, I love it. The doors for the cab and sliding door, brilliant innovation

I like to see the scenery.

It's a different mindset and priorities when you are living in a van full time. She can sit out side and see the scenery or through the window.

It will be so much warmer for a lot of the year, she will save a lot on heating too. She could still have the wooden door and slider open and see out as well, albeit not as good.

The skill that went into making the curved entrance door to fit the shape of the van, great workmanship.

She reminded me of our kiwi sister in law, a real earth mother(y).

I saw on Facebook where a young couple did a conversion on a long wheel base Merc Sprinter, looked well put together, lots of solid wood, nice kitchen with Belfast sink. Bulkhead separating cab in solid wood, I remarked that I thought the kitchen had taken over a lot of space sacrificing lounging and asked, due to their obvious age, had they weighed the van.
They replied that the seating slid out from under the raised rear bed, no we have not weighed it !
I hope they do take my advise as I would hate to see them have problems with the DSV after all the hard work they have put in.
