Just wondering if anybody has over stayed by mistake or on purpose? Re the 90 day rules and who is going to check? If you have what was the outcome?

On our return trip from France recently , the French did not seem to do any checks. Very interested how you got on.

Talking to the UK customs man, “you can stay as long as you like in the UK it’s those French b***that cause the trouble”

We were very carefully checked out of France at the end of 90 days this week, and they seemed to be a bit surprised that we had been away so long! When we asked when can we go back, he tried to work out the date - 90 days later - which he got wrong! Even the immigration officers don't know the rolling 90/180 system!
The stamp in and out of boarder tells them how long you have been there, it will be interesting to hear what happens to someone who over stays!
