Worked fine for me..... and I don`t do faceache..

It`s booootiful.....

Does it really work at 7.5t? not much payload left when the car is in would be my guess, not listed on their web site so can't see any details

If I had a daf it would be on the front of a 5th wheeler. 2nd had old units are cheaper then cars.

Seems like a lot to ask, I wonder what the difference in weight is fro a Merc chassis top a DAF chassis at 7.5t?

I don't know of any other motorhome manufacturers running DAF, we asked VarioMobil a few years ago at Dusseldorf and they said that the front axle loading was too low for a motorhome or theirs anyway.

Seems things have changed?

DAF

Reading the blurb it sounds like they are trying to get their base used more but I can't think of a DAF based motorhome off the top of my head

kerb weight of a smart car is 1200kg, 400 litres of fresh is another 400kg - couple of people say 200kg 'stuff' say 300kg that would mean that empty this would have to weigh 5.4t - possible I guess

Our MORELO on a Daily chassis weighs 6.6t as delivered with options, if it was car garage model it would be longer so heavier to start with so you would need to knock some of the options on the head.

Yes, even levelling legs would be out and he didn't show a generator which they generally include as standard, I wonder f it had air conditioning unit on the roof - must be cut well back on options. Still had macerator and black tank.

Ooo, I like that (y)

No doubt way out of my price range, but the Daf looks a nice option for a planned self build. Gave me a few ideas, thanks.

I would budget on it going over 7.5t though, the 4 cylinder IVECO Eurocargo is the chassis of choice for the entry level MORELO liners and others, its is used as a lighter option than the Merc or MAN chassis but is still around a 1000kg heavier than a Daily chassis version.

I think it would be a pain to keep under 7500 and most people paying for that would want be able to fit it out a bit more. A 'C ' licence is £1200 and will make you a better driver, just do it.
And then you are not limited to a basic underpowered 4 cylinder lump.

What are you thinking of , a V8 scania ? Haha
Not for me as we can stay under 7500kg with the Daily chassis and I don't have the licence but I bet jongood wouldn't mind one ;)

I hear that the Mercedes Atego or even Actros are pretty grunty.

Smart car is 900kg

NEW 2021 RS EVOLUTION 7.5TON DAF
Introducing back to the market our very popular RS Evolution range on the 7.5ton and 10ton chassis.

so I guess he is showing the 10 ton one.

I have never really got the logic of stuffing a car into a motorhome instead of putting it on a trailer, if you must take one with you that is. It means that you have to be around 9.5m and whatever the manufacturers say, C, M or RS you are up against the wall on payload. Take a shorter base and add a trailer, much more flexible. Morelo have just discontinued the Empire on the Daily chassis, bling is a killer when you come to weight. Morelo also no longer offer a slide out on the Daily chassis, too heavy. C have not offered a slide out on a Daily chassis.
That said it would be interesting to see the spec of the DAF 10 ton chassis, what's the ride like compared to a Mercedes or a Eurocargo? The demo did seem to have a lot of locker space occupied by fixed kit?

In the video he definitely states that it is 7.5t the one he is showing, pretty sure

To me, putting a car on a trailer might as well be the same as going in a caravan (which would be much cheaper). I get having a car is really handy but careful planning usually means you can get to where you want too go without a car, SWMBO loves to use public transport as she finds it enlightening in places we have never been before.
