4 tonne breakdown cover

We have RAC Arrival - - we are 4.25t and 7.95m and will be using a towed car as well and the answer was no problem

Certainly worth it and we went for Personal too so we are covered in ANY vehicle even if we are not driving

Hi all, any suggestions on the best breakdown cover for UK and Europe for a 7.5 meter, 4005 kgs Motorhome?
Hi, we have a 7 ton rv, 9 meters and have RAC Arrival with European cover,
RAC have no age, weight or length restrictions, so for us it's a no brainer.
1st trip out we had a brake failure and RAC arranged a low loader for the RV, and a taxi for us,( passengers not allowed in the recovery artic) cost RAC approx £750 so the yearly cost of £250 approx was well worth it

Ours is covered by the insurance. We’re 4tonne and 7.3m so not much difference. We’re insured through AIB insurance. This includes repatriation.

The best deal I found for our 4.25t Moho was Driver Guardian - it was about £180 for UK and 90 days EU cover. RAC Arrival were expensive (£240+ IIRC) and were vague about UK National Recovery. I've just opened a Nationwide Flex Plus account for next years cover as it works out even cheaper and you seem to get unlimited EU cover

We’re 7.5 tonne and could only get cover with RAC Arrival via the caravan and camping club. For some strange reason RAC won’t provide this cover when dealing direct with them.

Like the others camping and caravaning club which is the RAC but you can’t go direct if you do is only up to 3.5t. The price is ok and we have used them twice both for tire problem a blow out on the motorway and a bulge on a side wall when we were away at a site, our friend had a clutch fail in Germany.
The only problem I found was they sent a standard van both times even though I told them it would not be able to lift our van with standard equipment this lead to a delay waiting again, but the main thing is they got us going again. We’ve been with them for just under 30 years.

Or the other option buy a new van and get it free:giggle::giggle:

Our motorhome insurer, Comfort, also arranges European wide breakdown cover for our 4.5t Hymer for an extra £65 per year.
Same here - 5.3 tonnes and last year recovered for repair by them using a Crouch recovery flatbed
