Rally 3F's Drax Rally - 31st July to 5th August 2025 - RESERVE LIST CLOSED

Looks like they have been watering the lawn again prior to our arrival.
That's nice of them, I hate brown grass! 😄
Top tip, your naughty corner might not be the place to go ;)

It's our first time at Drax meet, that doesn't look very inviting does it, and the long range forecast isn't very promising

Just remember to pack your wellies John........and your slip on pumps which you'll spend most of your time in when in the club house. 😂

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

Jo662 Please don’t let that photo put you off. There are still 10 days to go with sunshine on the way. The ground at Drax will recover very quickly from the deluge of rain that we have just had. No ground could cope with that.

We have sole use of the concert room in the clubhouse, which is big enough to hold everyone. The long term forecast is occasional light showers, which won’t affect the field.

It doesn't really matter what the weather holds, we know we are in for a fabulous weekend...hail rain sunshine or snow we are funsters after all (y)

Sam loved the natural pond two years ago, but as you can see the field soon drys up. It will be yet another fabulous meet. The weather will not spoil it.

What is the dog walking situation at Drax…..looking at google maps it seems penned in by a railway line or main roads, or a power station (😜) so, for those that have been before, or are local, is there access to off-road walks and footpaths from the site?

Nice walk around the power station for a long leg stretch if not we exercise ours around the bottom of the field edges.

Depends on how far you want to walk?
There's a small wooded area to the left of the power station.
You can walk all the way around the power station - about 4miles
You can walk all the way to Barlow Common - 9miles [not all off road IIRC, but very quiet country lanes]

Out the social club carpark, turn left, walk over the railway line bridge, turn right and there's a bit of a walk there. There's a picnic area with tables etc.

Or if you keep going all the way around the perimeter of the power station it's about a 7 mile walk.

Edit: Just seen Langtoftlad says it's 4 miles. Maybe it just felt like 7 miles to me!
