How much do you use in 24 hrs?

Arrived at cl site with metered electric. Interesting I thought as never looked in to consumption before. Put 14 kw on meter . After 18 hrs it ran out. So it seems we consume about 18/19 kw in 24hrs.
On this site at. 27 pence that's about £5.00 per day?

Presume you had a heater on for most of the time to use 14kw (y)

Came home last week and accidently left the van heating (22 degs) and hot water on for 24 hours and it used 20KWh, and that includes a bit of house use as well.

I thought that it was illegal to resell electricity at a profit. We pay 12.81 per KWh and 15p a day connection at home

On a site at the moment with metered electric. With this system, you only pay for what you use. They guy takes a meter reading at the start, and then when your ready to pay he takes the final reading. We recently did 20 nights and it come to £18, so a really fair system, and with this system it makes you take care of what you are using. We have been quite frugal with our usage, but it pays.

anyone need their own meter .... or want to borrow one if we're at the same location sometime?

That is very cheap, also commercial rates are dearer than domestic.

Always cheaper to use gas.

We were on a site in Germany with metered electric, we had the heater on for a good part of the day and the smiling German charged us 11 euro.

spongy

I should explain that using 240v is unusuall for us untill winter arrives. We have 300w solar and lithium for the invertor and lpg. However the Alde 6kw gas heating can be used on electric at 3kw which drops automatically when the load to van exceeds 16 amp such as kettle use.The night and day timed thermostat always on.

About £4000 a year for electric ! If living on site (PS my math(s) is not brilliant but what a mark up!

It's is illegal to resell electric and I doubt very much they are, BUT they can charge as much as they want for the use of their electric supply superstructure.... Cabling, bollards, fuseboards etc.

Interesting thread at the right time.
We don't hook up often (dozen times in 5 years) but did for two days earlier this week as the batteries were not charging with solar and when using the slow cooker took a couple of days to recover...

So, first time on this van - didn't want to trust the original 35 year old '7amp all day long' charger

so bought a Noco Genius charger and a couple of 16a plugs to make a lead🙄 then off to a site to see my little brother & family.
The nice lady sold me a couple of cards, £1 each for 2 days, not much I thought... Went to load the meter and there was £1.26 already on it, so one card later we have a £2.26 credit.
2 days later after charging batteries, fridge, hot water for 2 showers, each! full phones, leccy toothbrush, etc we still had £1.60 odd left. Bargain or slow meter?

Ps, batteries much better now ta 👍
