Anyone on the forum got a 2019 Twin yet?
I have one on order, due in 6 weeks, getting a bit excited now

No but they are fantastic vans. No wonder you are excited :)

We have the previous model. We love it. Well built, reliable, good backup. What more could you want.
See you sometime on the road.

Which model did you go for and are they in any way different from the previous model?

Just looked ... it's beautiful ... perfect for me in fact ... jealous .. :(

First questions I ask when buying any van is, is it winterised? fresh water inside? Is it warm? good insulation?

Does the new twin meet this?

We went for 640 SLB Supreme
A few differences from ‘18 model
Notably, the Sky Roof and the full walk through (loft as they call it) from hab to cab
What swung it finally was the “Duplex” washroom

Blimey I thought twins
Was when you were looking forward to one
and the Midwifes said congratulations you have twins
and then you went in a corner and cried

Proper insulation and inboard water tank
Truma Combi to make it cosy

We have recently bought a new van and note that the front grill is lacking in any protection for the intercooler and radiator from stones and other objects so I am looking for a suitable screen to fit behind the grille without blocking the airflow .

In 3-weeks from now you'll have one of the nicest vans around.

Nicky and I looked at the 640 Adria at the NEC in Oct-18 and it had the wow factor; very nice!

Will it be delivered at 3,500kg or are you going higher.

I've looked at the new 640 Adria twins and the weird thing is that it would seem that the UK spec ones come on the 3.5 light chassis but the continental ones have the option of the heavy chassis. I never got as far as asking a UK dealer whether they could get one on the heavy chassis or what the maximum the 3.5 light can be uprated to as I'm still dithering over whether we could cope with a compressor fridge or not.

To be honest, we decided before the Adria decision that 3500kg was the target weight anyway and so uprating was never on the tick list
We have a reasonable(claimed) payload, to be confirmed, but to be honest but this is going to be for long weekends and only occasional road trips.
We rarely go “off grid” , but I too ‘dithered’ ref the compressor fridge, not sure why in the end, as with factory solar it should be easily capable of 3+ days without moving, and I can’t see that happening during our tenure.

Small complication with my Swift (px) but should be sorted by March when the Adria is due

Getting giddy now.

It's a very exciting time - we went through this last November while waiting for our new Dreamer D55+ to be delivered. I saw both the D55+ and the new 2019 Twins at the Dusseldorf show last year and it was a close decision. Both have thew window above the cab and clever bathrooms, but the Dreamer (Rapido) has a 3 way absorption fridge rather than compressor. I also preferred the interior fit out and ambience, but that is very subjective to each person. The sky roof makes a huge difference to the ambience in the lounge and we love it. Which colour did you choose? The D55+ only comes in silver which made our choice easy!

......... but the Dreamer (Rapido) has a 3 way absorption fridge rather than compressor

That's a useful bit of kit to have IMO. Our new van has a compressor fridge and in its standard factory form (i.e. one hab battery only) then it's as much good as tits on a fish.

......having the use of gas to power the fridge is a useful addition albeit the compressor unit is much less likely to go wrong.

Good info (y) I was under the impression that the 640 was on a maxi chassis so you've set me straight.
