Hi all

Went to open the bonnet just now and it's not releasing. I have looked at on line forums from the past many suggesting give the bonnet a good thump. Don't want to go there as next I will have a nice dent in the bonnet. I notice the assembly around the release catch on the nearside door pillar is attached by a 'star' fastener so as I have a set of adapters for this type of fixing am thinking to remove and have a look. I assume a cable will/should be attached to the other side of the release lever. I would be grateful of any info from others who have fixed this issue. Vehicle is a 2007 Ducato.

Much appreciated!

Get someone to push down on the bonnet while you pull the release catch, worked on my old Bedford.

Well hopefully sorted. I removed the housing and the cable end was still attached exactly as normal. I was able to pull it further and the bonnet opened. The catch is well greased, I did get a small amount of ptfe spray down the end of the cable at the release latch send. I also, having read this elsewhere, undid the two rubber grommets that the bonnet sits on when closed a couple of turns. Closed bonnet, tried again, all good 👍
