Hi,

My Hymer has a metal strip on both sides with a slot along the length to take a ladder - image attached.
Do not need a ladder but would like to use the slots and fit a wooden block down either side so I could strap stuff to the rear.

Has anyone got information / PDF on slot dimensions and how the ladder would normally be attached?

Not wanting to be flamed but what is difference between a thread and a question.
Is this in the right place / format?

Thanks
Peter

Could be wrong but I don't think that rail is for a ladder.. never seen a Hymer with a ladder secured to it..

looks like a plastic joint between the wall and rear end, should it not have a plastic trim insert?

You have asked a question.. it has now become a thread.. .. welcome .

Dear both - Thanks for the WELCOME!

See attached images which show rail / slots in use. This is not a common feature and looks to be pre 2000.
Would like to copy for my H520.

Thanks & regards.

I believe the rail mounting feature is genuine Hymer but 100% agree the ladder frame is not.
Thanks for the link

Since 2008 & many years tugging
Those look like the body jointing strips, if you attach anything to them you will distort the joint and cause water ingress.

The joining strips are always on the side but agree care needed not to damage / abuse loading rails.

All of the photos after the original post are taken from motor homes for sale today in UK or Germany.

Not a one off but from today's discussion clearly very few were made.

Agree on ladder + loading. I only want to load extra gear, have no desire to climb ............................
