Good evening all.

We pick up our MH next weekend, being newbies it will be the 1st time we’ve insured one. Thanks to this website we have already picked up some great tips and questions to ask.

So far the best quote we’ve received is from Fluxdirect but I want to make sure that my no claims are protected and this covers contents?

44 years old, limited mileage, 3 points, burstner i821, £298 FC (I thought this was very good)

Any advice muchly appreciated!

Many thanks

Looks a good price.

I went with Flux for my 1st year - went up second year and I got a lower price and more miles from Comfort.

:welco:
That sounds a good price for an i820, have you checked the windscreen cover is adequate.

Hi Lenny

Am about to! Read a thread on here last night, up 3k! Ouch, many thanks!

Factor in separate breakdown cover, if it’s not included. We’ve been quoted £124 to cover the MH abroad, which may be included with some policies, making them more expensive insurance, but less than breakdown as well. It sounds like a good price, though. As others have said, check the windscreen cover is adequate for your vehicle.

Insured from 0:00 Friday! Over the moon with the deal, my car insurance runs out this month so got a quote for both, works out approximately £270 for the MH, £100 excess for windscreen replacement, £500 excess for everything else, 120 days European cover(not that we plan to go abroad this year) can pay £90 extra for breakdown cover but need to check with my wife as could be covered through her bank.

Big shout out to Fluxdirect for two great quotes and also for the input on the thread, much appreciated, thank you.

First time for me too and went Flux as well. £156 + £90 for breakdown/recovery etc. Decent I thought.

NB: just been sent the full information and certs, as I was insuring two vehicles I assumed an incorrect price.

It was in fact £385 + £90 breakdown (if required) having read the small print the maximum windscreen allowance is £1000.

On the flip side they have lowered the cost of my car insurance by £175, ying & yang?! Lol

Will be giving them a call regarding the windscreen cover tomorrow.

Nowhere enough.
For our Hymer we pay £381 + £62 for breakdown cover. Windscreen cover is unlimited if done by Autoglass or £3000 if done by other companies.

Thank you very much for your advice, especially regarding the windscreen replacement. The new price which would include windscreen cover with no maximum is £500 PA plus £90 breakdown cover.

Tomorrow I will get some more quotes to see if I can get this lower.

Thanks again as in the event of having a replacement window that could have been very expensive indeed.

Hi Guy's while we are on about insurance has anyone heard of Staveley head also the insurance factory and one called Campton had some cheap quotes from them like £145 cheaper than Comfort which included my son who is 25 with 2 claims !! it's due for renewal in 2 weeks so need to get my skates on, many thanks.

Quick update..... hoping to pick the MH up next weekend now, just insured ourselves with comfort insurance for £264.44 with unlimited windscreen cover. Thank you all very much for your advice, it’s very much appreciated.

Staveley Head offered a good price; European cover up to 90 days or longer at a higher price. Time-limited European cover on a Vin plate. Discount for paid membership of a motorhome club or forum, such as Motorhomefun.

The one negative I found is the £1,500 limit on windscreen damage.

update just taken out a policy with caravan guard £435 for both of us, £287 cheaper than comfort , ok no euro cover but I can always add that later , includes uk breakdown and legal thought that was a good deal considering my one claim and son's two claims and he is only 25 !!

Sounds okay but also check Grove and Dean broker. They include breakdown cover.

l went on compare the market out three quotes adrianflux was the cheapest and best BUT l went to greenflag for europeanplus cover and their quote approximately half price
