Hi, I've been good, searched and not found an answer to this one.

I am looking for a 13 pin tester that also doubles as a trailer lights tester.

Most of the testers only check lights, but I need one that tests all 13 pins, including pins 9, 10, 11, (12) and 13 are working on both the trailer, and the motorhome socket. Can't seem to find one that does all this.

I could probably make a powered test unit to check the trailer lights, but I'd prefer a single unit. Any ideas?

Is the following what you are looking for? I have the 7 pin and it's been okay.

ETUKER 13 Pin Trailer Light Plug & Socket Wiring Circuit Tester, 12V 13 Pin Trailer Light Connector Cable Wiring Circuit Diagnostic Testing Tools Tester, for Caravan/RV/Trailer Light Diagnostic https://amzn.eu/d/fi2w8TP

Thanks for replying Chris, but that type doesn't do it.

What I need is something a tad more sophisticated. It needs to have its own 12v power source to light the trailer lights and power connections so I can see that they are working without the faff of connecting up the bus each time.

AND, I need to be able to connect it to the moho 13pin socket to see that all works ... without the faff of connecting the trailer!

I like to check that the lights and sockets are all working a week or so before we depart, so there is enough time to fix anything.

It appears to offer that functionality. It is powered by a 9V battery. However, it will be doing a resistance check, so it will light up failures directly, not by illiminating the trailer lights themselves. LED compatibility might be hit or miss.

However, I doubt it checks the fridge/auxilliary circuit, as this would depend on the trailer electric load characteristics (plus requiring the loads to actually be turned on).

I have one of these and the adaptors from 13pin to 7 pin. It works fine checking the trailer lights. The only slight issue is. My trailer lights have twin indicator bulbs, if one has failed the tester shows the circuit as ok.

As has been said it has a space for a 9 volt battery but if you look carefully at the photo it also has a light for permanent 12v feed is that not what you were looking for?

I thought the 9v powered the unit. Does a 9w battery have enough oomph to light the lights?

They don't need to. They just need to detect the lights. Like a multimeter would. This is why LED is a bit hit or miss. The electronics might not play ball like an old filament bulb would. This is why some lighting boards claim to be "CANBUS" compatible. They have additional resistors simply to fool the electronics that the bulb is there.
