12v socket in bathroom

In our German van we have a 12v socket in the bathroom. Idle curiosity - would would it have been designed to run? I guess a hairdryer, although I believe 12v hairdryers are not much use. What else?

Toothbrush charger we have a 240v socket in our Hymer toilet/wash basin room

We have one in our Burstner. Shaver charging perhaps? We've never used it.

Its for plugging your tablet into when you're reading your newspaper sat on the loo on a Sunday morning, just as you'd do at home with a 'real' paper, you don't want the tablet battery dying just as you're getting comfortable!

We’ve got a German ‘van with 12 and 240v sockets in the bathroom cabinet.
Never used them (too close to watery things for my liking)
Perhaps it’s a European fashion?
