I'm a newbie
Are 12 volt cooling fans any good, or do they just circulate warm air?

For personal use, I find the 12v John Lewis mini fan effective, unfortunately they don’t seem to stock it at the moment. It’s great for us as it’s only me that needs it!
We have the Thule Omnivent over the cooker which is very effective both in and out but it’s quite noisy and I couldn’t sleep with it on.

I got a 12 volt greenhouse fan from an online garden centre. It's roughly the same size as an Endless Breeze, but about a third of the price. Can't compare the noise levels as I've never heard an EB. Cools the dog down well enough though.

All fans only circulate air, they don't cool it, moving air feels cooler as it evaporates sweat quicker. A 12v fan that pulls in cooler air from outside or extracts hotter air from inside can be quite effective.
Good 12v fans are expensive, we just use a large mains fan running on inverter, far cheaper assuming you already have the inverter.

I’ve got an endless breeze available to buy if anyone is interested

We have two Endless Breeze fitted in roof lights - one draws air on over kicthen area and the other draws it out over the bed area. Pets love it during the day and at slow speed can run all night.

I sold mine,,didn't really rate it..Only sleep in the van in hot weather and they are no good outside.BUSBY.

Have to disagree with this, we use outside and it's great, on high speed it creates a lovely breeze.

Think most people must appreciate a fan is simply an air mover and not an air cooler...However a fan makes the atmosphere feel cooler as the warm air circulates around us so the body feels cooler. Yes we would all love air con but sometimes not practible.

Another one for Endless Breeze. It’s 12 volt and we bought a mains adapter from Halfords that was for running a 12 volt cool box on the mains. Works well. Endless breeze is noisy if on full power but when it’s really hot I can put up with it.

I have tried various 12v fans, the endless breeze maybe the best. But I bought a portable 12v eberspacher air cooler for the dogs and it is brilliant.

to get the most cooling effect from a fan, hang a wet sheet over a window and draw the air in through it. This is what poor people in the middle east use
