I am considering buying an older Concorde Compact - if you have any experience of these motorhomes it would be good to hear from you.

They are very compact .

I may be looking at the same one
Probably the same one! They don't come up for sale very often.
I might go and look at it on Saturday but its a 350 mile round trip unfortunately.
Its the height that worries me - just how stable is it in windy weather.

Not stable, I’ve driven one

Our la Strada was the same

Hi

We had a 2005 Concorde Compact.

I love that van apart from making the downstairs bed.

Quality of furniture and upholstery was amazing , so much better than my Current Weinsberg.

If we hadn’t wanted a fixed bed, and auto gearbox I would stil have that van.

Was the handling ok in the wind? I'm just a bit concerned it feels very top heavy.

It was bit woobly on occasion , especially as I had the early one with built in top box, but I drove it as my car every day for several years in all conditions and all over Europe.

Air springs would have helped but on mine on x244 Ducato the seat belt frame was in the way underneath.

Daniel.

Thanks for that - sounds like 99% of the time it will be fine.

I had a look at it yesterday, the interior condition isn't great but can be sorted out.
It needs to be completely reupholstered which is quite expensive.
I'm thinking about it!
if it’s that cheap though and in good condition apart from upholstery then it’s a good price

Did you buy it ? Saw it go for £25,100 if it’s the same one.

I am away so could not go to view it

No I didn't buy it - too much at £25100.

Yes they put an attractive low price on it to get people interested and bidding, it’s gone for two and a half times that initial price.

You can usually ignore the early bids, I was the highest bidder at just over £21000 until about 20mins before the end of the auction.

You may still win.

It was too high for me. No warranty , sold as seen.

I only paid £13,000 for our A Class Hymer at 16 years old.

Second hand prices still too high.

Your correct about 2nd hand prices although they do seem to be easing a bit.
I thought it would go for around £21500 to £22500 given the condition but somebody thought differently!

Fools and money, it’s what keeps prices high.

A good van for those who want compact , maybe a young family with a drive away or tent.

But a good van

Bonus for me was the 3 litre chain engine that you could tube to 200bhp ish.

Easy to park, covert and could tow a decent size caravan.
