I have just fitted a Kenwood DAB unit but I have been searching for a company called DABonwheels who I have previously used for info/recommendations and purchases. They seem to have disappeared and the website seems to have been taken over by someone dealing in cars. Anyone know anything about their whereabouts now please?

No, but if you are looking for a DAB ariel as per your thread title, Halfords have them for £20.

Thanks saw those but they are passive aerials and I understood that active aerials gave better performance. So was really looking for an active one.

If you're motorhome happens to have a Status type TV aerial, hook up to that for reception. I'd tried all sorts with limited success until I fitted a brand new Status aerial with a DAB diplexer which can come with the aerial, reception....Flawless.

Just searching google might help. I just installed a new Sony double din unit and bought a Halfords ariel. It turned out I didn’t need it as I found both standard and dab leads behind the dash of my 2019/20 ducato so took it back. Lucky I hadn’t opened the pack! It seems to work well

Lucky you. Mine is a tad older @ 2012 so no dab aerial.
And I don’t have a Status either.

You’ve got the same van as us I think, and Cliff fitted a a stubby aerial to the front panel of the van.

He made an aluminium reflector plate to make the aerial work.

The cable is fed through the cup holder and into the dash.

We tried a few aerials before doing this and none worked. This works a treat, and we never lose the signal. 👍

If you need any info, just ask.

What a great idea. Which aerial did you use and I presume the aluminium plate is bent and fitted under the panel ?

We bought it from Amazon.
Techno Andy told us which one he had used, and we bought the same one.

Eightwood DAB Car Aerial DAB Antenna Splitter Amplifier SMA/SMB to DIN Connector Universal Roof Car DAB FM Antenna 5M 16.4ft Cable Compatible for FM Radio DAB Car Radio Blaupunkt Pioneer Alpine JVC https://amzn.eu/d/cpXHkaH

Remove cup holder on passenger side (just pull it out). There’s an air duct that you can drill into from under the bonnet, and then feed the cables through attached to a thin piece of wire.

The aluminium plate followed the contour of the panel. It was about a 2 or 3mm thick plate.

If you need any more info just PM me and I’ll give you Cliff’s number.

It works really well, and never loses signal. We tried others before this and it was a total nightmare.
