Autotrail arapoho
My 2013 autotrail arapoho comfortmatic gearbox is not selecting any gear. It says on the dashboard that that gear is not available. Any quick solutions to the problem.?

How close are you to Adams Morsley Portsmouth you mY need a visit sooner than later . They seem to be the experts

FYI - Iveco didn’t ever fit comformatic gearboxes to their chassis’s! They have their own electro mechanical box, not hydrauliic and later they fitted torque converter boxes… ✔️

1. Give it a while and try again
2. Dig out your handbook and do a recalibration of the clutch (Too complicated to explain here)

EDIT: Just seen Carpmart's reply but my post may still be relevant. Either it is an Iveco or it is a Fiat.

It can be both. We have a Fiat Ducato fitted with an 3 litre Iveco engine

Yes the engines are largely the same, except transverse (in Fiat chassis) as opposed to longitudinal mounted in Iveco. The gearboxes are different which is what I was addressing as that’s what the OP’s question related to!

Our 2019 Fiat 2.3 150 Comformatic is in Adams Morey as we speak, started jerking and stalling on the way back from France. Tried a fluid change and clutch bite and reset but then no gears. They took the box out today hopefully ready late tomorrow they know what they are doing service is excellent

That's going to hurt Mr. Wallet.

What you having done?

They recon it’s the cylinder that has failed but as they are taking the box out I have told them to replace the DM and clutch. We only have done 34,000 from new (2019) but as the box is out prudent to change the lot. I have just signed the cheque and they will fill in the (lots of) noughts 🤬🤬

All now repaired, excellent service from Adams Morey, new DMF, clutch, master and slave cylinders, owing to contamination and excessive play in the flywheel. Probably not helped by the kangaroo take offs caused by the clutch fully engaging as soon as you touched the throttle. It was very expensive but that remains between me and AM as I do not want this to turn into oh! I could have got it cheaper quicker etc. I have been connected to the motor trade for over 55 years and I am content that I got the service I paid for.

What was the fault? They've changed the whole system just to be sure but it would be useful to know what the actual problem was

At 57k miles if my box started playing up and it was box out I’d have done exactly the same, why wouldn’t you replace everything you can’t get to whilst it was out? Maybe if less than 25k mls I’d probably left the dmf and clutch as there shouldn’t be too much wear at that mileage but as I’m at 57k any fault that presents itself from here on in would have a new dmf and clutch fitted👍

Having seen your other posts as you were struggling to get back to UK unfortunately it does not surprise that so much has failed. My only surprise was you were even able to get it to AM under it's own power.

Doesn’t matter how much it costs, it needed it or it’s scrap and it being a “fiat professional” I’d be glad it was at Portsmouth then any other…👍🏼

The very, very, temporary fix when my Ducato Comfortmatic went belly up was to disconnect starter battery for a few minutes. Only worked twice, after that it was on the back of a recovery truck. So plan to start and drive dircet to somewhere with knowledge of fix, without stopping / turning off engine. Adams Morey, Portsmouth are the go to but up in Scottish land Logan Services seem to have a reputation.

How reliable is the Electromechanical Box? (Agile?)
It can be both. We have a Fiat Ducato fitted with an 3 litre Iveco engine
We have a Fiat Ducato with an Iveco 2.8 Engine
