Not how I wanted to write my first post

First of all I’m not too tight to pay for joining like minded folk here on the forum. However I had someone trying to scam my account and I await a new card.
So long story short the dealership is Motorhome Hub Scotland Ltd based in Perth and the person is John Wishart.
I don’t want to say to much just now however we have secured our van, we have the keys and V5 and our receipt and we spoke to the police in Perth and they said that the van is ours.
This has been a very stressful time and I’m grateful to the local people that helped us.
Please share far and wide to prevent this situation happening again.
We have been lucky securing our motorhome, many have been swindled out of thousands.
Thanks for all your support.

You certainly have had a stressful time of it. Good to hear that you have secured your motorhome and can now move on with enjoying it.
Unfortunately we don’t have that many motorhome dealers up here, and choice can be limited. May your experience be a warning to others. Thanks for sharing the information.
Hope to see you on a site somewhere.

Glad of your outcome…👍🏼

We have a NMC (nosey mares club) on here and they will want to know the full story of how you got your van back….😎😆☺️😉
Sounds like we need to rename the NMC as Harvey Carpmart appears to have joined too :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Ettrick reiver , I am so pleased to hear that you managed to retrieve your motorhome. I wish you many happy travels in it.

Wow! What a story. Glad its a good outcome but we all want to know the details at some point! :D

I presume any warranty is out of the window though?

Unfortunately the op can only read posts and not reply as they have used all their free posts.

I very much hope that they adopt the advice given and get their motorhome without any further trouble.
I think, were I the OP, I might make a small further investment i.e. membership to take advantage of what advice there is.

I’m so pleased you managed to get it sorted. I’m sorry for some of the negative and less than helpful posts on this thread. I’m sure they meant well but some were a little impatient.
Welcome to the forum and I hope you’re future posts are happier ones!

welcome to the fun its taken a while but at least your here;bigwelcome:
im sure that John Wishart has been mentioned on here before for not being a particularly nice individual and a bit of a bully so i think you may have had a lucky escape
Im sure once its moted and your sat in it having your first beer all will be well.

Thanks for sharing this advice, it is much appreciated and I am or I should say my wife is in touch with Citizens Advice about the shenanigans.
I know some laws in Scotland are different from rest of UK but look for a solicitor specialising in bankruptcy and company law who can advise you and, also, to take the stress away.
Usually there's a free first consultation because they need to know what the matter is before saying they can agree to represent.

There's a lot of rules regarding company directorships and processes/practices they must follow. And then there's the matter of any recompense you may be due caused by the closure or switch to being in administration.

I'd also be keen to know when it re-opens under the control of the administrator or liquidator. The administrator would usually keep the venture going to try to find a buyer, once they have investigated the current situation. However, if the 'books' are in a really poor state, it may well be that the business cannot continue and everything will be liquidated asap. Potentially some BIG bargains.

I recall when MFI went down, 2008-ish, we bought two shop displays from two different branches during the liquidation. Also the necessary electrical equipment, smeg range and stainless splashback and hood, induction hob, 2-drawer dishwasher, second hood. Belfast sink and a butler's sink with taps. Got a professional self-employed kitchen fitter to fit it and fix the joints properly, to make sure they would last. He made smaller cupboards (eg wine racks), from bigger cupboards that weren't needed. And a bespoke stainless steel top, for the hob area, to match the stainless prep area which was also bespoke. Bought it all and fitted it, including tiling a 22x12 feet floor, rewiring, replumbing for less than the normal price of the range and it's still going strong today 17yrs later. :)

That's the kind of bargain that might appear soon from liquidators.

You may find any residual stock is not physically owned by the dealership but by a finance company who may repossess and resell elsewhere.

When a double glazing company went into liquidation near where we were living they were making bespoke units for us. We'd paid for 2 and another 4 were part made. We got the two that had been completed and paid for as they were clearly marked with our name and address and we had the receipt. The other 4 part made would have been scrap as the frames had been cut. The liquidator almost gave them to us. Liquidators want to get as much value as they can as quickly as possible.

Finally got the Cheyenne home. Huge thanks to Kenny MacGregor and his son Jake who along with Caroline a former employee ensured we got our van. John Wishart will hopefully get what’s coming to him.
