Not how I wanted to write my first post

Get yourself on a few rallies but be prepared to relive the nightmare again as people will want to know exactly what happend from the horses mouth, assuming you have a mouth like a horse of course 😉😉😉😉😉

And don't take Funsters too seriously...

Best wishes and I'm really pleased it all worked out, though no doubt lots of sleep was lost !!

Excellent news. (y)

Funnily enough, or not in your case, we started thinking that we might want to think about changing our motorhome and were having a look at the websites of Scottish based dealers in the Fun Dealership List and guess what The Motorhome Hub in Perth was "We're having trouble finding that site"!

Next version of the List will reflect that they've ceased trading.(y)

Now that you're sorted and as Debs says get out there and enjoy yourself/ves. Weather up here is looking not to bad again for next week.(y)
Thanks. It was their website going offline that first alerted my suspicions. The dealer had said he would see to the van having a valet, service, hab check and full MOT and give me a bell in a week. I went online to look at our van and site down, smelling a rat and tried to get in touch. Finally received an email about them going bust and then after a lot of research and good honest local folk secured our van. Once it’s all sorted and MOT’d looking forward to exploring near and far.

Welcome.

It’s all in the past now and you can now look forward and enjoy the journey.

Plenty of help on here. Just ask.

So glad it's turned out OK for you but it's a shocking story. Really feel for the others who may have lost a lot.
Yes we realise that we’ve been fortunate, the firm’s employees have been ripped off as well who knows how many customers and other businesses that relied on their custom.

First of all I’m not too tight to pay for joining like minded folk here on the forum. However I had someone trying to scam my account and I await a new card.
So long story short the dealership is Motorhome Hub Scotland Ltd based in Perth and the person is John Wishart.
I don’t want to say to much just now however we have secured our van, we have the keys and V5 and our receipt and we spoke to the police in Perth and they said that the van is ours.
This has been a very stressful time and I’m grateful to the local people that helped us.
Please share far and wide to prevent this situation happening again.
We have been lucky securing our motorhome, many have been swindled out of thousands.
Thanks for all your support.

Oh boy, it seems like things haven’t been going smoothly for you, not just with the motorhome troubles but also with that account scam. But hey, at least you’ve sorted out the motorhome issues! Welcome to our community!

The thing is, if he’s been conned out of thousands then he’s probably reluctant to pay owt else out at the minute.

What 🤔 like 15 quid or whatever it is for lots of possibly great advice 🤔

Although if you’re getting that advice free as you don’t want to subscribe then it’s win win I suppose.

Does take the Micky a but though IMHO

edit I see coin has changed hands now 😊

I have paid a subscription, I explained earlier what my situation is.

I sense that you will be able to give good sound advice in future to people who post on MHF with the same problem of dealers going into administration. Unfortunately there will be others in the same situation.
Happy to share any information that may be useful.

So sorry to hear this, but it happens.if it’s a limited company and the company is going into liquidation then you need to find out who the liquidators are, go to the Companies House Website and type in the Company Name/number or if you know the directors names type those in the CH search bar, the company details should show up inc wether it’s trading or not however, Directors have been known to put their companies in a ‘Ceased Trading’ position and (they walk away then apply to have their company struck off) this is a little more difficult because it’ll be upto the creditors(your one now) to put the company into liquidation, but having stated this fact I’d personally find directors home addresses( it’ll be on the companies house register) and get a letter to them personally threatening them with a persual for compensation via a lawyer, as they obviously new their trading position at the time of taking your payment and they won’t like your letter and may cooperate with you, act asap and Good luck🤞🤞🤞

There is always good advice on here about collecting your new van like spending as long as you need with the sales person, making sure you understand everything and asking a thousand questions, even videoing the process.

I guess this didn't apply in your case Ettrick reiver? You probably turned up with a bunch of heavies and got it off their forecourt asap! 😁

:welcome4: Now we can give you a proper welcome. So pleased that you have your motorhome. I certainly didn't want to hear bad news and checked in every spare moment for an update. Join some rallies, meet fellow funsters and enjoy your motorhome adventures.

Sincerely, Auntie Pam

Not quite, I live by the saying “walk quietly but carry a big stick” 😉
Good friends in low places.

Thanks for sharing this advice, it is much appreciated and I am or I should say my wife is in touch with Citizens Advice about the shenanigans.
