Hi everyone..we are in Spain and for a couple of days, we've had a message on the dash display..
It just says..OIL..with 5 small dashes above it..As below...
- - - - -
OIL.
The oil level is full on the dipstick..I had it serviced and new oil in 2 weeks before we left home...no problems with van ( a fiat ducato 2.2 )....
The oil warning light ( a small oil can ) comes on then goes off when the engine starts, as usual..
Any ideas..thank you...

Sounds as if it's over full which is nearly as bad as being under.
Thanks , that's what I thought, although I haven't got a clue, but it's the only reason...it also happened after a long drive..don't know if that means anything..👍

It might be the warning to say it is due a service and the garage who did the servicing didn't reset it.

There's a procedure you can find online which might work and turn it off.

You can try turning on the ignition, but not starting it. Hold the accelerator down fully for 60 seconds then pump the brake pedal 7 times.

This might work.

We're you parked on a slope,? the electronic reader is very sensitive. I have in the past disconnected the negative battery lead for a while and that cleared the fault. What I can't see is the general fault orange illuminated triangular sign giving a warning, so this may be an entirely different fault.
Mike.

Thanks..no warning signs either orange or red...

Recently had something similar and I ll try to find the link with other brake pedal pushes whilst accelerator is depressed.
None of them worked for me but worth trying instead of forking out 156 quid for a reset.
Another thread suggested getting it reset abroad where it may be between free and 30 euros

Edit. Found it quickly. Thread 'Fiat Ducato 2.2 oil service level low' https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/fiat-ducato-2-2-oil-service-level-low.320084/

It's advising the oil level is ok. If it is anything less that 5 bars it needs some.
The lights should only only come on momentarily and turn off when the engine starts
