Spare wheel carrier for alloy wheel.

Fiat Ducato 2016.
Went from 15" steel to 16" alloy recently. (Supermetal alloys)
Put the spare wheel complete with alloy into the "boot" but too much room taken up.
Tried to fit it in the original spare wheel carrier but the centre "boss" of the carrier mechanism is too big a diameter to go through the alloy centre hole.
It measures 60mm but the steel one measures 70mms.
Has anyone come across this bother and what can be done to get round it?
Have fitted the 15" steel in as temporary measure.
 
My wheels are alloys but the spare is steel. The kit supplied includes an adaptor for use if one of the alloys needs to go in the carrier.
 
I have alloys and a steel spare wheel with an adapter to mount the alloy back up in the holder but will not be doing that as the wheel is dragged under the van before lifting up, yes you could put a mat underneath to help but I don't want to scratch the wheel so I have a bag to put the wheel in till it's fixed, luckily not have to use it yet.
Defently would not want to be without a spare wheel it was needed in the north of Norway! in a previous van.

Yes, I didn't think to get a spare steel wheel.
My problem is that the centre hole in the spare alloy is too small.
Will have to see if I can engineer something.

Have already seen them but they are out of stock everywhere for pcd 118.
Have an account with coastal and have ticked "notify me when back in stock".
How does it fit, there is no guide on the coastal.motorbikes website.
Bearing in mind the centre hole on my alloy is 10mms smaller then the steel wheel.
 
The bracket is bolted to the inside the hub, thereby allowing the winding end attachment locate into the bracket. Works for me and many others who have this system.

Had a similar experience myself. My FIAT Professional dealer informed me that, since our campervan has alloy wheels, we needed an alloy spare. I ordered one, only to discover it also required an alloy wheel adapter!

I managed to track down the FIAT-branded adapter from an eBay seller. I was a bit wary given the low price—I feared it might be a knock-off—but it's genuine FIAT. Now the spare is properly mounted on the carrier, and I’ve even added a plastic wheel cover to protect it and minimise any risk of scratches when changing the wheel.

Mine is 5x118, I should have mentioned this in my first post.
At the mo, no one has stocks of the 5x118.

Ahhh, apologies I assumed the spare was a Fiat 16-inch alloy. Hopefully they get stock soon.🤞🏻
 
Update, now (was) back in stock, bought one and fitted it.
Pics below. It's not straightforward.

The fitting sequence is the same for my 118pcd Ducato alloy wheel. I fitted a wheel cover with the wheel hanging off the ground. Once cover is fully fitted, wind the wheel up to the locked and secure position with green indicator visible.

I had to fit the existing lifting mechanism (fully wound out) to the new plate then the 3 new bolts through the wheel and screw into the plate. Tighten up the bolts but not too tight as the plate would start to deform. Then wind the wheel up.

That’s about the same conclusion I came to when trial fitting the wheel, hub carrier and plate but with a standard Ducato wheel the plate is flush with the inner wheel so it doesn’t distort. Glad you got sorted out though 👍
