Rally Thorpe le Soken, immediately after The Bash - 26th May - 2nd June 2025

Hi Dave
Curry Chicken tika Jalfriezy. £21
4 nights with Electric.£80 - £30 deposit. = £50
£81 total
Is that correct can I pay in one payment or do you want curry paid separately.

Les
Hi Les, 4 nights inc EHU = £80, plus one curry @£21 = £101 minus the £30 deposit already paid, so i make that to be £71 outstanding .... happy to accept £81 if you really want to overpay (or ive got my sums wrong, weve tried counting but weve only got 40 fingers and toes between us both ....

when are you arriving/leaving please?

Thanks Dave

Hi prawn madras please
Thanks 😊

Hi Dave, it’s 4 nights from 26th leave 30th please.
I paid balance on 28th February.
Hope that’s OK
Thanks Les

Hi, can you fit me in for Thorpe? I've already booked and paid for Stowe Marie so it would be for the whole week.
I've responded and allocated you a place, thanks

Dave MisterB - do you happen to know if any of the three pubs in Thorpe-Le-Soken are dog friendly?

Asking for Stella .

The Crown was last year, as we went in with 2 dogs.
Once googled, sort of gives the game away

Hi Dave
Just looking at site facilities etc and how far things are for geriatrics like us to walk to and noticed there are showers and toilets 👍
Can we use them as it would save us lugging a full tank of water all the way down there ?
No problem if not but just thought I’d ask
See you soon 🥳

Yes, the toilet block is adjacent to the rally field is of a very high standard (hopefully attendees from last year will support that comment?) so not far to walk. The pubs etc are about a ten minute walk from the rally field, either along the entrance track and then public footpath or about 15 mins through the fields along a very flat and access road, into the back of the village.
The shortest route to the social club (cheap drinks!!) is via the entrance track and is about two minutes from the site entrance. Just smiffy managed it last year (far too many times apparently.... according to local legend !!) and even made it back ok!!

There are several fill points around the rally field and one just as you arrive. You may be asked to go into the rally field, fill up at a water point and then drive out of the rally field and then back in again to be sited, just to avoid the hold ups we experienced last year as most people turned up 'empty'. It's NOT an issue to turn up empty, just so long as Rob and Lee know you need water when you get onto the rally field.

There are three pubs, one 'bar' which is more of a restaurant (but also has a beer garden) and the social club, so plenty of watering holes, I think most of them also welcome well behaved dogs, but as they're about two minutes apart its not too far to move to the next one if they don't ..!

Yay fantastic 🎉that sounds great ! I’ve got my trusty watering can so no problem and think we can manage to hobble to the nearest pub
Thanks so much for the info
Can’t wait 💖

Usually travel with full water tank but may arrive empty this time as I'm coming directly from the Swaffham bash [anyone else] and that, notoriously, only has one fill point.

We're going from the Bash too, we did the same last year and filled up when we got to Thorpe 👍

Just for clarity, Rob and Lee sorted it out last year so everyone was able to fill up before siting. If you arrive and need water, you might be asked to fill up then re enter the field, that might mean you're not parked next to the person you arrived with. If that's important then if you both arrive full of water it won't be an issue, however arriving together doesn't guarantee you will be parked next to each other anyway, but it's not a massive field so it shouldn't be an issue, but please accept wherever Rob and Lee site you.
Last year because the ground was very soft there were a couple of minor hiccups, but as it's a working farm they have the equipment to pull even the largest motorhome to 'safety' ...lol

I can't see that there will be problems with water. Most of us coming from Swaffham will have limited water on board given the solitary tap there.

I recall a tap fairly central to our field. But that does risk a bit of a queue as most coming from the Bash will all arrive at a similar time. We'll play it by ear and it may be a couple will need to temporarily park up on site whilst everyone get's to do their stuff. Potentially if a few have got hoses, they could be joined to that most could then water whilst on their pitch.

Lee and I abandoned Swaffham early on the Monday (avoiding the mess of the rather soggy rugby club field that I doubt will be an issue this year), but asking the rest to await a call so we had time to be set up for the funster convoy. I think arrival worked out sometime after 1:30 to avoid carnage with any late departures at Thorpe.

I will be sending out direct messages over the weekend re arrival times and general information, similar to last year, I will be asking for reg numbers of motorhomes for the site, inc any toads or accompanying cars plus I will need contact details (Tel numbers and full names for temp membership of the social club)
