I'm a newbie
I've been writing here about my saga with Marquis. I bought a new motorhome from them on 14th August, paid in full the following week with the promise I could collect it three days later which they then cancelled - and I'm still waiting.

Every week they come up with they come up with a slightly different excuse and I've had enough. I am now getting a refund and hope never to deal with Marquis again.

I would seriously suggest that you don't go anywhere near them and to advise everyone else to do the same. They are utterly useless.

Best action possible , can you imagine having to deal with them for any problems in warranty 😱😱😱, really do your research and buy somewhere with the best possible customer service, also in after sales, worth every penny , good luck and keep us posted 👍

Glad to hear your getting your monies back, hope they dont mess you about with that as well.
I know many have already said on past posts but i have never paid in full and up front on a car or van.
Usually a deposit and not a big one, say £1000. Then either a bank transfer when i am there ready to pick up the vehicle or use my debit card.

You shouldn’t have had to go through this experience it’s inexcusable l find it difficult to believe they are still in business treating people so badly.
l do hope you get your funds back promptly and have better luck finding the MH of your dreams.

Marquis stipulate that they need the money to be cleared three days before collection. That sounded pretty standard at the time but given that they then backed out, it's not something I will be fooled by again in the future.

So how long are you having to wait for your money back ?
Best to buy elsewhere 👍
I've only just had the latest (and last) excuse from them at literally 3.30 this afternoon, at which point I said I want my money back. They say they will do that but I need to give certain forms of ID, so I'm going over first thing Monday morning to get that sorted.

Why Monday? I would be there this afternoon or tomorrow. Sounds like you’re going to get messed abut getting your money back to me 😉

Are they not open on a Saturday morning?
If so, I'd be over there then.
An immediate bank transfer into your account.

Gave you a Like for the timing and not the "get messed about".(y)

I'm not clear why they need ID when transferring money back to the account it came from.

You've made the right decision getting your money back.

It was done via a transaction ID using the BACS system. All about anti-money laundering. I hate that I feel I'm making excuses for them! It will be sorted. I've waited weeks so one more weekend won't make much of a difference.

Great you are on the road to a resolution.

Personally I would not leave their premises on Monday until the money was transferred to my account and I had proof of that either from my bank or from my online account.
There is no reason why transfer cannot take place.
Although they may try and be as creative! As they have been to date.

Good luck on Monday

According to their website they're open 6 days a week - 09:00 to 17:00 on a Saturday!

Yes, but Sharon who presses the buttons will be having her hair done.

If it was me I'd be getting it done on Saturday given the issues the OP's having and the less than confidence inspiring actions of the dealer!
Their website says they're open on a Saturday.

After this debacle I for one will not be going anywhere near Marquis when I buy my next MH.

I hope you get sorted soon and find the van of your dreams and can get on the road and enjoy it, please don't let this put you off.

More likely Sharon can only press the buttons to collect funds on a Saturday! Refund sign off by manager required but he's on the golf course!

Somebody visits the showroom on a Saturday and wants to purchase. Sorry Sir/Madam can you come back on Monday so we can bill you/collect your funds! Yes, of course, Mr Salesman!

Well in marked contrast to the diabolical Marquis conduct meted out to the OP I will take the opportunity to give Highbridge Somerset a (y) Price protected purchase through Covid and 15 month delay and two significant price increases. Registered on day of collection with balance paid by bank transfer.
Aftersales first class; back to them for replacement Hab services electronic control unit. Mobile fitter visit to home three times for minor issues, peeling paint on plastic EHU cover, replaced. Rubber water seal beneath wind out awning lifted , replaced. One drawer runner screws fell out, replaced all screws to the full set of drawers with longer and more than the original fitters did and was happy to dip the threads in my epoxy potion I made up.
Excellent service and their mobile fitters respond countrywide according to my new best friend.
Mobile fitter now on my Christmas card list!(y)
