Help.. water pump gone..

I’m at Jim’s and my water pump has packed up… it makes a quiet noise like it’s pumping but no water… was working fine earlier..
No camping shops open as closed on a Wednesday here.. it a flow jet, is it worth taking apart..?

Any ideas? Wissel is close, do you have one by any chance mate..?

Just smiffy. Unlucky Garry but at least you've got that big long yellow hose at your disposal, ie, hang it through a window and jam it in place, then just phone Jim or Gromett Karl any time you need the tap turned on. Sorted.

Not an airlock. Ran the pump with taps open for a long time.

When you say "operating" is it spinning or just trying to spin...Any bit of debris stuck in one of the Chambers?.

There is a motor home and caravan spares place in Mablethorpe.
Don’t know the extent of what they sell but it’s there.
I think it was closed Monday Tuesday and Wednesday.

Is that a filter to the immediate left of the pump? Can you open it and check it is clear?
Also try - turn all taps OFF. Unscrew shower head and turn cold water on and take a few sharp sucks on the pipe. This should make sure the pump is primed and not dry/air-locked.

replacement pump worked straight off. I left because it started raining but it was gurgling as water went through. I will leave it to Just smiffy to set the pressure setting and ensure it is all tightened up screwed in.
It is peeing it down and you have to be outside the van to work on it through the back doors. Only one person can get in. so me getting wet for no reason seemed pointless

Undo the exit pipe from the pump.
Then turn on a tap
The pump should start, and water should shoot out like a fountain from the exit pipe.

If the pump works, but no water from the tap, then it's an airlock.
If pump makes a noise, but just spins, no water shoots out of the exit pipe, then get a new pump.
If the pump does not work at all then it's an electrical problem.

I'm on my third pump since 2019.
I find they tend to last a couple of years, so I always carry a spare pump.

It's a case of 'when' you will need the spare, not 'if' you will need the spare.
(They usually fail on a Saturday afternoon before a bank holiday, so no water for at least 5 days unless you have the spare)

I recently replaced our Shurflo 20psi pump with the spare I bought 2 x years ago, and just a few weeks ago bought another spare..............which I know I may never have to fit, but at least I know it's there if/when needed.

I recently replaced our Shurflo 20psi pump with the spare I bought 2 x years ago, and just a few weeks ago bought another spare..............which I know I may never have to fit, but at least I know it's there if/when needed.

Jock, I have the same pump and all was perfect, until it stopped working (the night before my Alde service) no problem I have the identical pump as a spare (new).
However it just surges all the time, it can’t keep up with an open tap like the old one, there was no surging with the old one! Is there an adjustment I can make on it?

if a Shurflo Ade, there is a Philips screw on the rear black plastic casing of the pump, which can be used to adjust the surging.
If referring to the Flojet, I know nothing about them, but would presume them to be similar in adjustement.

I am one of those people that always carries a spare. Has helped many people over the years, as I find carrying a spare minimises the possibility of failure. Regulators, pumps and tap cartridges are always in my spares cupboard
