Do remember that we have an exemption that allows us to rally almost anywhere we wish. So if you know of a nice level field near you, or near an event, why not contact the landowner and see if we can rally there? As long as the rally is 5 days or less there will be no problems or objections The landowner might want paying, and if so, this can be worked out by charging a rally fee to cover the costs. For example if a landowner wanted £100 and we had 10 ralliers for 2 nights, £5 a night would cover it, 20 ralliers, would pay about half that (I think) :roflmto:

Lots of Funsters pay to go to Show Rallies and do not visit the show. They are content to just be parked in a field and socialise with others. Finding our own fields might suit some better, be much cheaper, a lot more fun and a lot less rules and regulations! Give it some thought, if you want to hold a rally I will ensure you get all the help you need. :thumb:

Points to note.
CHARGING RALLIERS IS TO COVER COSTS ONLY Rallies will be completely non profit making. I do not want members thinking this might be a business opportunity and setting up rallies all over the country to make a tidy profit. If you want a rally on your own land, then get another member to organise it otherwise you'll be deemed a trader. Our insurance covers us only as a rallying club and not as a business making money from rallies.

We will be holding a 5 day rally to coincide with Frankies visit to the UK in August. Also thinking of one for the same period as Victorian week in June, the Victorian week is actually 10 days, if we have a CFL licence by then 5 lucky campers will be able to stay for the whole 10 days, other wise there will just be a 5 Day rally. If you think you may be up for either do drop me a pm. As soon as I tie up dates I'll put them in the rally section.

Hmm. Ive just started a job in Teesdale and Weardale (thats way up north to you suverners) providing ICT support to farms and rural business. There are about 500 farm members. I could ask around. It gets wild up there though from now until the spring and the majority of farm roads are no good for vans but there may be something. Im off to the offices of the farm support services so will ask tomorrow.

Cheers

Our local rugby team holds rallies on its ground quite often the caravan club hold an event there couple of times a year. I have also seen M/H's there a few rimes so if anyone wants a rally in Dumfries let me know and i will go and get details. It is less than a mile from the town centre and the rugby club has a bar not sure of opening times but sure it is open most fri and sat. There is a small corner shop across the road and everything you would really need is close by.

So let me know if any are interested.

Can you just clarify the 'we' please?
Is it 'we' as funsters? 'We' as motorhomers? Or what?

MotorhomeFun is an exempted organisation, so its members can rally as long as one MHF member is in charge of the event to act as the marshal.
Any number of units for a maximum of 5 days (5 x 24 hours). Only members can attend these rallies.

Question for Jim.
Does MHF have the para 4 exemption for extended rallies up to 28 days? Non members can use these as long as a MHF member is the marshal.

I havent done anything about this yet. If you can furnish me with some explanations or even something I can put in an email with whats requred, covered by insurance and what these exemptions mean I will email the head of the Teesdale Agricutural support service who I work with (also a good pal). They have 500 farm members across Teesdale and Weardale. Perhaps they will find something but I dont suppose they will do it for nothing. Farmers are like that.

field in Limington

Hi
there is a field in limington hampshire that is regularly used by the other clubs for rallies. I approached him to use the field for my daughters wedding and he was very ameanible and said yes so i know he would be happy. It is walking distance to Limington and on the edge of the New Forest.
He has two fields that he uses,

Bamptons Farm, Lisle Court Road, Lymington, SO41 5SH

Nothing stopping you coming to motorhome fun meets. We have members with caravans and tents and some of the winter meets have statics that can be rented.
