How do I insert a picture in a post?

Yes, I watched the video. The file uploads and says 100%, but the thumbnail/image buttons do not appear.

I never have problems but they will not post now so may be blocked by something someone posted. Would hold fire and try again as @Jim my now fix it.

You could try clearing the cookies in your browser then closing it and starting again. This often clears some problems.

Alternatively, try a different browser, such as Chrome.

I click on upload a file

Click on choose
Click on computer
Click on whatever the photo is stored on .. mp3 or whatevrr
Open the photo u want
Then when it there click on full image
Then post reply.

So, in the post edit window on the web page, I click on 'Upload File'

I don't get any 'choose' button, just the standard Win7 file manager box

I click on the picture file to select it, then click 'Open'

In the post edit window, the file upload progress bar appears, and quickly reaches 100%, then nothing.

After about a minute, an error box pops up, with the error message:

"The following error occurred

There was a problem uploading your file."

and then the filename.

The Thumbnail and Full Image buttons do not appear at all in the post edit window.

Go to the bottom of the page you want to post your picture in. Click in the answer box so the cursor is there. then click on the upload a file. NOW does choose a file come up? You shouldn't have to do that but try it.

I have never posted a pic but was reading this thread for future reference and tried @movan 's above advice.
I clicked "Upload a File" the middle button below the reply writing box and up came the list of everything on the laptop I am using at this moment.
Just to try it I will now go find a pic and see if it appears below this text.

Magic.
Once it has uploaded a small image appears below the 3 bottom buttons with two buttons asking whether it is to be a Thumbnail or Full Image.
I clicked the Ful Image and there it is.

I tried both clicking and not clicking in the answer box, also tried the drag'n'drop method, all with the same result.
And now the good news:
I found the bug.

When I switch off my VPN, the correct buttons magically appear.
Now, why does that happen? I'll leave that for another day, and quit while I'm winning.
