We want to take our two-year old grand daughter on holiday, but are having problems fitting the child safety seat to the front facing rear seat. The problem is the straight back on the seat. We don't want to put her on the front passenger seat. Has anyone else had this problem and any ideas for solutions?

yes, we've had this problem. Some car seats have a tilt function, otherwise put something under the front of the seat or a cushion behind the bottom of the back of the seat. Depends on the type of seat.
Would help to have a picture of the seat in situ.

Thanks for your advice will give it a try. It's very disappointing having this problem, motor homes don't seem to be child friendly. We are also looking for a guard to fit the smev hob.

My daughter has to alter both the children's seats when she takes them from her car to go in their van. As Jay said, it's all to do with the tilt on the seat. You can alter most of them to be more or less upright, if that makes sense.

Thank you the cooker guard looks good, will. check there is enough lip on the work surface. We tried the car seat upright but it was uncomfortable, she was leaning forwards. Going to try the cushions behind the seat. We asked the motor home dealer but they couldn't t help, and the autocruise web site refers back to the dealers for advice.

Or try something behind the bottom of the seat back cushion to give it a bit of rake.

A wedge shaped piece of polystyrene would offer much more support than a soft cushion.
remember the child seat will try to twist sideways if it isnt firmly supported on the base or back so maybe two wedges...one for the base and one for the back.

Can never be too careful with child seats.
