i was in my gas locker again yesterday to turn the gas back on after the Truma repair (dealers switched it off after working on it)

And again I notice a very slight gas smell inside the locker. It's been like that since I bought it and having had its Habitation checks done and X2 checks on the heater without anyone at the dealership saying it's not normal (forgot to ask)

Is it normal to have a slight smell of gas? It's well vented to the underside of the van and zero smell inside the home. Just keep thinking surely with all hoses tightened up it should be 100% odour free?

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
In spite of regular intensive leak checks there was always a whiff in the locker when I had Calor exchange cylinders and I put it down to gas draining from the pipes when I disconnected the pigtails to remove the cylinders. I very rarely ran the cylinders to completely empty before exchanging them.
No smell at all from my Refillable system with Gaslow s/steel pipes.

Stainless hoses and no smell from ours. Personally I would not notice but Dorset Lady can smell LPG from 1000m šŸ˜‚.

Always seem to have a slight smell lingering for a day or two after refilling our Gaslows. Strangely, though, it doesn't set off the leak detector pen I use to check connections - which I do calibrate periodically against a known source.

Edit - we've got all stainless steel hoses.

The gas is odourless
So a smelly thing is added in with the gas.
Overtime that odour permeates through rubber hoses.

Hmm! Anyone with a new MH or hose got the odour? šŸ¤”

Smell is added I believe.
Our locker smells of gas. Rubber hoses. Might change to SS.

Same with mine, had it at the dealers for a check and pressure test and nothing was found. Glad to hear itā€™s not just mine.

the bottle locker should have holes in the floor to permit the gas to vent as it is heavier than air.
however a already indicated a check with gas leak solution and a wee brush will tell if there are any issues.
