And now for something completely different.

Venison goulash with Spatzlin.
Mi cooked tonight under my supervision. :giggle:

You may well ask why Venison well that was due to a language problem didn't realise we had bought Venison.

View attachment 825125
Venison* is a good meat, low in fat, we should eat more of it:) I confess I hadn't heard of Spatzlin - it's an egg noodle and also tasty I suspect.

* Best eaten with sauerkraut!

Now at La du Der last time we were here stayed at an Aire on the West Side, that is now a CCP at over 15 quid a night, it's not worth that.

We are at a nice little free one on the East Side just a few yards from the lake.

Had a wander to the lake it's only a couple of hundred yards away. We came here mainly to see the Cranes.
DBK & PhilandMena would love it here, in just a few minutes we saw:-

Cranes
Lapwings
Grey Herons
Mallards
Egrets
Cormorants
Black Headed gulls
Coots
Mute Swans

I just wish I could copy paste your GPS co-ords Lenny, I have to write them down, then Google them typing them in one letter at a time.:banghead: Tell me if there is an easier way..Please!
Reading the Aire Reviews arround the Lac, many are saying that they were free last year, or 6EU, but now 15EU some with services not working, some with barriers left up, as there were no services working, maybe it was winter then though.
Funsters up in The UK NE & Angus Scotland have had a real weather bashing today, trains stopped and road closures, we had some stormy heavy rain also in Surrey, but nothing like they have had up North. Lets hope Jim managed to get his final crop of Olives in before the winds came.:giggle:
Happy Travels.

Afraid not they are embedded in the photo, phone camera adds them automatically.

The one we stayed at last time was €6 but due to Covid and services turned off it was free but it's now a CCP at €15.20. Quite a nice Aire but not worth that. It's on the touristy side.

Where we are now is much nicer it's near a yatch club but that's closed for the winter apart from that it's in the middle of nowhere.

We arrived late due to yet more road closures unbelievable the amount we have come across on this trip.
Been like it for more than 12 years especially with upgrading all the autobahns.
Digressing a few more photos, given @Lenny HB claim to a sylphlike body, I can but admire his metabolism coping with the food illustrated.
Yes I must admit I have no idea how people eat this amount?

Was the €15 one at Giffaumont-Champaubert? It was €6 in 2022. If I'm that way again I'll do a "LennyHB" and go to the one on the north side of the Lake. It looks nicer than the other one anyway.

This is one of our favourite spots for a couple of days cycling and RR. It was free earlier this year, but as we left it was closing like others round there for the CCP conversion. I suppose now it’s got electric and a service point that works all the time, but it’s a big old increase.

That was the one also the one up the road from it is now CCP.

Busy today there is a Kitesurf club next to the sailing club loads of Kite surfers & Windsurfers on the lake.
But it's only a small area of the lake still very peaceful on the Aire.

Was going to go for a bike ride but it's blowing a hooley, fine going one way but even with e-bikes don't fancy coming back against it, that's if the gusts don't blow you off.

Your question prompted me to investigate. I'm not sure if you will find the results useful, as it probably only works if you have an Android device, but here goes. :)

Download the image with the aire coords. Then open Google translate and select "camera". In the bottom left of the screen you should see a thumbnail image, click on this and open the image you just downloaded from MHF. Click "select text" and it should highlight the text on the image. You could adjust the highlighting so it only includes the co-ords but this isn't essential, you can do this later. Then click "copy text", open Google Maps and paste the text into the search bar, editing it if necessary to remove any text not needed, leaving only the co-ords, otherwise it gets confused. Press enter and Google Maps should display the location of the aire. :)

Oh dear! Look what I found in the fridge.
They were worse than normal ones, they were chicken, it said chicken breast on the pack. Could have fooled me, more like reconstituted chicken breast with flavour removed.

As a special favor to gus-lopez and TinaLes, small light lunch portions today.

I'm guessing those curious trees are willows. Some seem to have aerial roots which suggests they are flooded when the water level is high. Very curious, thanks for posting. :)
White willows according to my plant app. Yes they would be flooded in the spring, water level low at the moment.

Cycled around the lake today 25 miles.

Only a couple of miles from the Aire a couple of the famous timber framed churches, missed these two when we did our tour of them last time we were here.

First one is one they moved from a village when they flooded the valley for the reservoir
